Life, the Obstacle Course

Elderly Who are Beautiful Like a Flower in Bloom

Beauty & AGE, in ONE “package” here, translated…

I’d read an article by a certain female writer, proclaiming herself as an “elderly’, I got curious, and turned to her FB pages, saw a few of her published photos and her personal information. And, the words, “Elderly woman who bloomed like a flower” came to mind. Actually, I’d seeing some of the female older writers who’d still, appeared just as beautiful as younger girls, it was, breathtaking. I’d often imagined, could it be how literary they all are, that’s helped them kept their flairs, to keep their looks young and beautiful?

Actually, I’d hated the terms, “elderly woman”, and “aged ladies”, like how we’d lost, certain qualities of being a woman. As the term “elderly woman” surfaced to mind, I’d envisioned this old woman with the back hunched over, barely able to walk. Or, if like the writer had described herself, after entering into the fifties, you’re considered elderly, then, in a short few years, I will soon, join in this parade too, ahhhhhhhhhh, this, can’t ever happen!

beautiful, in her own way!  Not my photograph…

Modern day man cared a lot over health, and they have ways to keep themselves young and beautiful, they’d never give in to their age. I have an acquaintance on FB, who’d often posted his mother’s photos, at first, I’d thought it was of his wife or girlfriend, and later, I’d learned, that she was, his mother. Based off of the age of my FB acquaintance, his mother should be in her sixties or seventies. But it seemed, as though, time had forgotten her, this mother on the FB page, looked fashionable, graceful, beautiful, such a beautiful cougar she is!

I also have two cougar aged coworkers who are in their fifties (cougars, NOT elderly!), one of them, Liao, she’s very open, full of confidence, an able-bodied woman, looked at least a dozen years younger than her real age; another, Li-Mei, is a middle-aged woman who’s outgoing and optimistic, she’d loved those mini-skirts, with her hair tied back into a ponytail, to show of that scent of youth about her, neither one of them is anywhere NEAR elderly!

a woman with her flair, despite her wrinkles, photo from online…

Then, what is the age, that defines an “elderly woman” then? I’d like to think, that the woman must be over seventy. And even AS we all enter into our seventies, or eighties, we’d still needed to, age gracefully, with that flair about us still intact, and we will, become aging beauties!

So, this would be, the modern man’s definition of being an elderly, these days, even as you reached your fifties, as long as you kept your bodies healthy (working out, eat right, blah-blah-blah!), you’ll still look like you’re in your forties, and, besides, age is just a NUMBER (hello, hello, hello???), and what defines how OLD you are, is your state of mind!!!
