Life, the Obstacle Course

Too Many Stories of War…

We’d been told, by our adult counterparts, too many stories of war, of those who’d gone to fight, who’d been, blown to pieces, lost their limbs, got discarded by the society, as they’d returned back to their separate hometowns…

Too many stories of war, and none of them had that perfect happily ever after to them, no, they’d all ended, quite tragically, and I’m beginning to ask, WHY, are you, telling me all those stories of war? Is it, to take away my already depleting innocence, are you, trying, to EDUCATE me, to TEACH me, that life ain’t, as easy as I will ever imagine it to be? Why must you, scare me with those horrid tales of death and injuries that had, plagued your lives?

Too many stories of war, they’re told, retold, with details added, and taken away as the years passed by, but, one thing about these stories never changed? They’re all, forecasted with deaths, those who’d gone to war as boy, and came back, totally, not the same, some, never even, came back home at all!

Too many stories of war, and I’m, really tired of hearing any of them, and yet, they’d still, sounded off, like those loud BOMBS getting tossed onto the enemies’ camps………
