This is REALLY B-A-D here, and, it’d happened again and again, and again, because NOBODY gives a SHIT! From the news online here in Taiwan, translated, by me…
The sergeant, Hong-Ling Wang hung himself with a noose, committed suicide. The newlywedded groom chose to end his own life, and his families are questioning why. The families suspected that his platoon leader added more work for him, pushed him hard, and wouldn’t allow him to have days of as he was a newlywed.
Wang was a “freshman” in the armed services, and, his superiors would give him a hard time, assigned him enormous amount of workload, and even as he’d asked for time off to have a honeymoon with his newly wedded wife, the superiors wouldn’t allow him to.
He’d asked for vacation time with his platoon leader, but the platoon leader wouldn’t allow him to, so, he’d gone to the superior to ask for it, and the platoon leader was displeased how he’d passed the chain of command. The day before Wang’s suicide, the platoon leader called him up, and made him write “I’m not allowed to take time off” ten times, and broke Wang and his fiancée, Huang apart, separated them, into different units, Huang fought the orders, and got angered at Wang, stated, “Let’s just file for a divorce right now, that way, there wouldn’t be a need for the transfers”.
At eight on October 20, Wang didn’t show up for the pre-operation briefs, men who served with him started looking for him, and they’d found him, in the locked-up platoon leader’s room, hung himself to death, as Wang was discovered, he’d still had a weak breath in him, but after the group rushed him to the hospital he’d still died.
The Penghu D.A.s Office, as well as the military’s own investigation unit declared his death a suicide, the D.O.D. also conducted an investigation, and found that Wang’s pressures not only came from his families, but also, from the armed services as well, that there were, improper discipline measures that were taken against him, that the platoon leader broke the rules of “Improperly disciplining the subordinates”, as well as “improper punishments”, and Chen was sent to the police.
The families suspected that platoon leader had abused Wang to death, the D.O.D. also conducted an investigation, concluded, that the sources of Wang’s pressure came from families, as well as the improper disciplines of the military too. The platoon leader had broken the laws on abuse of subordinate and improper measures of punishment, and Chen was taken into custody by the police.
The family suspected that the platoon leader gave Wang a hard time when he’d asked for time off to be with his newly wedded wife, but he’d stated, that he wasn’t able to sign off on his time off, because it wasn’t his authority to, it’d become a he-said, she-said. While after the case, the platoon leader had been, transferred away from the unit, and given a serious reprimand, after the Penghu District Courts reviewed the facts, they’d ruled that the platoon leader didn’t go beyond what he was supposed to do, that he’d not abused the man, who was his subordinate, sentenced him to three-months, and he could pay $90,000N.T. to get out of serving the time, and, nine months since the suicide, the platoon leader walked, without any punishment whatsoever.
This, is BULLSHIT, I mean, hello, a MAN was bullied to hang himself to D-E-A-T-H, and, the law says, that nobody’s responsible? How’s that justice, huh? And this still just shows, that ABUSE doesn’t necessarily need to happen physically and/or SEXUALLY, that this sort of verbal/emotional abuses can result in death, and it’s still considered, MURDER!
