Another way, that someone was, SCAMMED! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
A woman, Jiang, who’d just retired, no more than six months ago in Hualien, at the bottom of March, received a call from a fake D.A. multiple times, claiming that her national insurance card showed abnormal activities, and froze up her account, demanded that she make wire transfers and comply with the investigations. She’d wire transferred almost six million dollars, until this week, she’d felt, that something wasn’t quite right, she’d called the health insurance offices, and realized, that she’d been, scammed. The Department of National Health Insurance told, that this, was the highest amount ever scammed with the health insurance scams.
targeting the elderly and retired population here! Not my picture…
And, this still just shows, how easily, someone (a scam artist) can falsify as some member of the government (i.e. D.A., police, etc., etc., etc.), and, the best way to make sure that you’re not getting scammed, is to call the police, to cross check with them, but, this woman didn’t, and, she was scammed, for her entire life’s savings!
