Ninety-Percent of Those Who Hurt the Children are the Families that They Live with

Are you, SHOCKED, by this statistic??? I certainly am N-O-T!!! From the Newspapers, translated…

Since 1987, the Taiwan Fund for Children & Families started the actions to protect children, became the very FIRST child welfare not-for-profit organization in Taiwan. The foundation disclosed the statistics of the records they’d kept for the last thirty years, and found, that those who hurt the children, over ninety percent were the family members who lived with the children, and, of these ninety percent, parents make up eighty-seven percent of the total.

The C.E.O. of the foundation, He stated that for thirty years, the foundation had helped 21,480 children who were abused, and, those who’d found the children being abused, 95 percent were their families who lived with them, out of this, eighty-seven percent were the parents. Based off of the types of abuse, neglect takes up the majority, thirty-eight percent, and, it’s followed by physical abuse and improper disciplines.

On the reasons of child abuse, the statistics showed, that fifty-eight percent of the families lacked the correct beliefs in education, or that the parents don’t have ANY senses on how to be parents, causing injuries to the child.

The causes of abuse for close to forty-three percent of the family is marriage, and, there were another twenty-seven percent of domestic abuse that’s caused by poverty, and, lacking a supportive network also takes up twenty-seven percent as well.

He recalled, that back in 1991, the foundation set up the “2085 Child Protections Hotline”, to take calls on child abuse in the society. Before the passing of the Child Welfare Laws in 1993, the society generally kept the values of “there are NO misfit parents”, and “Keeping the legal matters OUT of the home fronts”, in order to save these children who were abused, there were social workers who were slapped, gotten feces splashed on them, chased by dogs, and threated by the families with a butcher’s knife, and gotten their offices smashed up.

So, this, is still very SHOCKING but real, and, just because it’s not happening to you, it doesn’t mean, that everywhere ELSE is sunny where it is, there are, those AWFUL parents who’d, take out their problems in their own ADULT lives on their young out there, and, thankfully, this is a foundation that acts as a guard dog for these sorts of things, but, this foundation still isn’t enough, to keep violence out of ALL children’s lives!
