Finding Work After I’d Retired

I refuse, to stay OUT of work after I retire, so, I’m, hunting for another job again, and, it’s for personal fulfillment, NOT for the sake of money here! Translated…

Time flew by, and, in a blink of an eye, I’m, on the verge, of retiring. I’d just turned fifty-five this year, qualified for the laborer insurances now, but, being a busybody, after I’d ended my almost twenty-years’ working career, I’d still, posted my résumés at the online job hunting sites. I am compelled to make this grand future for mys4elf, to NOT get crushed by reality.

I’d logged onto the job banks, and, kept lowering my standards, whether it be janitorial, factory worker, food industry, or the long list of ANY sort of jobs, I’m willing to give it a try; even IF it’s accounting or office-related work, I’d, bravely, applied. There was NO computer when I was in school, let alone learning how to use Word, Excel, or even, PowerPoint too. Thankfully, I’d gotten trained by the online world, logging online every single day, I’d owned the fundamentals, and I’d asked my son and daughter, to give me crash courses on using the computer software, and finally, a company said yes. Toward how the company was willing to give a fifty-five-year-old person a try, I’m, more than grateful

Finally, the day of the interview came, the interviewer was a young and established manager, he’d not minded my age, said, that it was my experiences that’s interested him, and, no long after my interview, I’d gotten the job. I was like a young person who’d gotten her first job, so very excited over it!

Changing tracks, to prove my own worth; working hard to get the opportunity that was presented before me, because comparing to the same routines, the new environment can bring more challenges. Learning as I grow older, I hope, that the group of us, retired people can have this young heart and keep learning new things.

Because of the decline in birthrate, the retirement age kept getting moved back, and maybe, there would be, elderly, who can no longer stand up straight, offering services to the customers in the super convenience stores. I hope that everybody can give them the applauses, because, we, the retired, still want to, contribute, to the society we’re living in.

This is like Erikson’s Generativity vs. Stagnation stage of life, because you’re retired and, you don’t want to feel so useless, that, is why, you’re, looking for work again, NOT because you need the extra money, but because you want to still keep on, contributing to the world, that, is where your value, your worth comes from.
