Death’s Impact on Children

going through the motions of death, not my photo.

Death impacts children, in different ways, based off of their differnet experiences in life (i.e. if someone they loved died, etc., etc., etc.), but one thing’s for certain, that DEATH has an immense impact on children’s lives.

As we get older, we watch death on T.V., hear abotu it on the news, and, we may, become, systematically desensitized to believing, “oh, another one, great!”.  But, regardless death has a profound impact on children’s lives, from the death of Goldie, the Goldfish, (remember how mommy took us to the toilet, and flushed it down, and took us out for ice cream???), the death of our very first beloed pet (that was, awful, wasn’t it, to see your animals, get injected with THE NEEDLE, and that was, a more humane way too!”, to the deaths of our loved ones, or even, someone who’s, a stranger to us, in some, huge-scale tragedy…

Death impacts children in more ways than one, death leaves that permanent mark (like that tattoo that can’t be removed via laser no matter what???), it stays with the children for life, and, no matter how old the children get, they will always and forever remember, the very FIRST time that someone OR something they loved had died, and, they will, experience death, in the most prominent way, until they become, adults, and gets numbed out from the process of systematic desensitization…

socialized, to behave, a certain way toward death…not my photo.

Death has many impacts on children, and, as death brush by them, they will feel, overcome with sadness, sorrows, loss, and sometimes, FEAR, and, if the adults failed to teach them how to cope with all the emotions that surrounds death, then, the children will totally, get L-O-S-T.
