How she found the love of her life: running! A tale of inspiration here, from the Newspapers, translated…
The Wanjingshi Marathon is about to begin next month, the sponsoring agencies invited the cancer-fighting female warrior, Pearl Wu to speak. A little over three years ago, Pearl Wu ended her marriage, and accidentally discovered she had breast cancer, at the lowest of her life, she’d started gotten into running, from before when she’d needed to ride her mo-ped to the entrance of her street, to now, she can finish a 12-hour super marathon event, “Running made me realize, that NOTHING is impossible.”
In her high school years, Pearl Wu loved the bubble teas, and she was nicknamed “Pearl” back then last year, she’d changed her name to “Pearl Wu”; she’s very outgoing, and her fellow runners nicknamed her “Sir”. In the three years since she’d been diagnosed with cancer, being a single mom, she had nothing BUT a positive outlook on life, she was thankful to the heavens, for letting her get diagnosed early.

After her breast cancer diagnosis was confirmed, she’d started chemotherapy right away, her best friends encouraged her to improve her physique by exercising, back then, she’d needed to ride her motorcycle to the entrance of her street to buy something. The first time she ran, she couldn’t even get to the second lightpole, “I’d finished the rest of the run by walking it”, the second 9K run, “I’d run to the point I felt so wobbly”.
Every time she finished a run, she’d always told herself, “I won’t do it anymore”, and yet, she’d signed up for the 21K half-marathon event, the full-marathons, even the 54K, 12-hour super marathons, because “I couldn’t stop”.
Even now, Pearl Wu still needed her meds every day, and needed to return to the hospital every three months for her follow-ups, it’d not put out her passions for running, because she’d never thought she had it in her, to finish one marathon after another, “Running had taught me to cherish life more, to live my life happily”.
So, this woman had found something to pour her heart and soul into, maybe, at first she’s escaping from something in her own life, then, as she ran more and more, she’d found her own power in running these marathons, and, she’d become, addicted to the sports, and, running made her cherished life even more, so, running has a positive effect on her.
