An elderly man, Chen, two days ago was placed in the Sanming Nursing Home in Luzhou, Hsinbei City two days ago, that very evening, he’d died, after falling off the roof, the police interviewed the roommate of the deceased, as well as the person in charge of the operations of the nursing home, they’d deducted, that the elderly man, in his attempts to escape, climbed out onto the cable wires on the outside wall, and accidentally, fell to his death.
The seventy-six year-old Chen left home awhile ago, the family reported him being missing, and the Social Services Department had intervened in helping to place him, ten days ago, they’d set him up at the Sanchih Domestic Violence Shelter, two days ago, he was just, transferred to the Sanming nursing home, and as a temporary homeless person in his status.
The two roommates of Chen stated, that Chen wanted to escape, he’d originally planned to climb out of the bedroom window, follow the cable wires to climb to the ground; the Sanming Nursing Home had bars on the windows, but it’d still not, deterred Chen from making his way out onto the side of the building, and falling to his demise.
The son of the deceased told, that from before, his father didn’t like staying at home, would run away, and they’d often reported him missing, and had the authorities helped them find him; in recent years, the father had, run from home a lot, and, after he was found and placed into the family’s custody, he’d, run away again, he was troubled by his own father’s behaviors too.
So, maybe, this elderly didn’t like being kept locked up, but, we really don’t know his living conditions before he was placed in the nursing home, perhaps, he felt, that staying at the nursing home limited his freedom to go as he pleased, and that, was why he’d, attempted to escape from the building, and, fell to his death.
