You Help Me with What’s on the Roads, I Help You Get Around…How They’d Spent Their College Years

The love shared by these two friend with different kinds of handicaps is just, amazing, from the Newspapers, translated…

You’ll be my ey4es, I’m your hands! The fourth-year Counseling student from Pingdong University, Hsiao was born with cerebral palsy, and his classmate, Huang, was a premature baby, and his premature birth caused him to be completely blind in one eye, with failing eyesight in the other. The two met in college, and became best of friends immediately, Hsiao became the eyes for Huang, and Huang, the arms and legs for Hsiao, how they’d helped each other grow and mature, and their friendships had, moved a lot of people.

When Hsiao was one, he was diagnosed as having a severe case of cerebral palsy, couldn’t crawl, or walk, and after being in physical rehab for a very long, did he regain his mobility, but, he’d, stumbled a lot when he walked, accumulated a ton of bruises and bumps on his body. Huang, because of how he was a premature birth, his optic nerves didn’t develop completely, he can only sense light out of his left eye, and, his right eye was, close to blind, and, even with surgeries, he still couldn’t see clearly.

The two met at a comic book club in school, and, they’d become, the best of friends, with this shared interest. And although, they both have handicaps, when Hsiao was standing up, he couldn’t carry anything in his arms, and needed someone to lean on when he walked, and, Huang became, his hands, helped him reached for what he needed. And, when Huang can’t see the road signs or something he’d dropped on the floors, Hsiao would remind him of it; the story of how the two of them helped each other, became a good encounter in the school.

Hsiao said, that he couldn’t maintain a steady pace when he walked, that it was difficult for him to go up and down the stairs; Huang said, that he’d used a larger version of textbooks compared to his fellow classmates, and even need binoculars to class. But both told, “anything that everybody else can do, so can we”, although the learning process was, more arduous compared to the rest, but, they’d hoped, that people can take from how undefeated they are when they’re looked upon, and not someone who’s, handicapped.

Both guys hoped to work for a social welfare organization after they graduated, hoping to incorporate their life experiences into what they’d learned, to help more of the handicapped people to blend into the world.

Both guys were very active in the extracurricular activities, now, there are, a total of ninety-one students who are handicapped, and the resources office will help them get the materials that can make their school life easier, to assist them in learning, hoping, that the rest of the student body will model after their spirits.

So, these two men, were the unlikeliest of best friends, but, because they were both handicapped, and so, they’d known how one another feels, which made them more connected to each other, and, with each other’s company, it made their schooling careers less lonely too.
