The principal of this Vietnamese elementary school was trying to instill the more important values of life in the students, but, the parents have objections on it, from the Newspapers, translated…
Can turning children into mamas’ boys or mamas’ girls kill their sense of creativity? The Vietnamese researchers found, that the most widely mistakes that parents make is “spoiling the children rotten”, this will not only change the children into mama’s boys or daddy’s girls, but it’d also cause the children to be without that sense of creativity, thus becoming, very codependent.

The most current edition of the newsletters from the Department of Education quoted the related researches done by Vietnamese researchers, that on the day school started this year, September 5th, on the verge of schools starting, a parent’s objections video came, at the Phuoc Dong Elementary School in Nha Trang, as the fourth graders cleaned up the classroom, moved the desks and chairs to sweep up the floors, this image had caused upset in the parents, they’d doubted the members of the school board, “forcing their young to labor”. The parents believed, that the kids should be in clean white shirts and dark blue slacks, in order to learn effectively, in a cleanly environment.
But, toward the angers from the parents, the Phuoc Dong Elementary School’s principal, Van Chau Nguyen said, that moving the desks and chairs around, cleaning up the classrooms, is a routine that they’d started the brand new school years with.
Nguyen Van Chau stressed, that the school was not just responsible in relaying the knowledge to the students, but also need to have them participate in smaller sorts of laboring and practices, that way, they can become useful members of the society when they’re older.
The principal, Chau said, that every year he’d observed the parents and students coming to the orientations and the first day of school, “All of the first graders’ parents carried the children’s backpack for them, while the children didn’t have anything to carry”. He believed, that “helping to increase the knowledge base of his students is important, but, helping to maintain their health overall is also, an absolutely necessity.” The Vietnamese scholars pointed out from this incident, that the parents should allow the kids to go to school by themselves, so they can learn to become independent, but the parents usually handled everything for the kids already, depriving them of the chance to learn.

So, this principal was doing an amazing thing, but, a lot of the parents wouldn’t agree, and it’s still this deeply rooted belief of the purpose of education that’s different between the parents and the educators, and, the principal was right, that having the kids help clean up the environment will help make them into active individuals who’d come to care about their living environment later on in life.
