Before she grew up, she used to, sit in her grandmother’s laps, and tell all her wildest fantasies to her, then, a whirlwind took her away!
Before she grew up, she used to sit on her front porch all day long, waiting for hte setting sun to kiss her gentle on her cheeks, and then, came the deep, dark nights that she’d, lain in bed, hearing the arguments get louder, louder, and louder on the other side of the closed doors.
not my photograph.
Before she grew up, she’d taught herself, a trick, to block everything out of her mind, and that became, the only way she’d found, to be useful, for her own survival. Before she grew up, she was taught, to doubt, to NEVER trust anybody, because, people are, always, OUT to get her.
Before she grew up, she wasn’t able to get those questions she had answered, and, she’d carried these questions from her younger years, into her adulthood, and, walked around, completely, blind………
Before she grew up, well, in a sense, she, NEVER grew up, because, she was, forced, OUT of her childhood years, suffered through the loss of her own innocence, because nobody ever knew that something wasn’t quite right, plus, she’d, kept those secrets so well, and, nobody ever asked her ‘bout them.
not my photograph still.
