Monsters Who Guarded Us…

There were, those TROLLS that lived under the bridge, that we needed to cross, but were unable to, because, we’re all afraid, of getting gobbled up whole, or, how ‘bout those things that go bump in the nights, how they’d, wrapped us up in their, furry, large arms so tight we couldn’t breathe anymore.

Or, those, magical creatures from mythology, like those griffons, fire-breathing dragons, or, the cyclops that were, outcasts, because they only have one eye, unlike us, “normal”, with two eyes?

not my sketch…

The monsters who guarded us, the ones that, screeched so loudly, that our ears bled, or those harpies that called out, in such sharpened pitches, that we’d become, deaf? They’re all, monsters, who’d, guarded us, and, we’d, forgotten about them all, ignored how they’re, taking over our lives, getting between us.

The monsters who guarded us, we won’t, live without them, for they’d become, our COAT of armor, and, we’d, kept our selves, locked up, in these cages we’d made for ourselves to live in, in isolation………

not my sketch still…

The monsters who guarded us, kept us safe in childhood, followed closely behind us into our older years, and, we thought, we’d, outgrown those monsters of our younger years, but, we are, never really, without them, are we??? Nope, they’re still, here, as ghosts, who’d, tagged along in our lives…
