In This Realm of Freedom, Don’t Be Too Foolish in the Implementing of the Policies

Hopes for the brand new year, call it, a New Year Resolution, if you will! From the Front Page Sections, translated…

The New Year’s resolution for January 1, 2017: I hope, that in this brand new year, the society in Taiwan can return to the brand new realm of people being kinder toward each other, with the harmonies of the societies.

Every year around election time, there would be the opposing views, the splitting of the people’s standpoints, which caused a lot of worries.

In recent six months, since the brand new government started working, not only did the opposing views not simmered down, instead, due to issues in marriages of homosexuals, the reforms in government retirement pensions, along with other issues, causing a greater gap of the races, of the eras, to the point, of the sides unwilling to compromise whatsoever, with the tension in the society, rising to an all-time high.

The writer of this article belonged to several LINE groups, and, all of my friends in these separate groups had gotten into displeasures over their differences of opinions and viewpoints, to the end, some of them withdrew from the groups, blocked one another from contacting, becoming enemies, even.

Holding firm to one’s beliefs, lacking the methods of communicating, especially, blocking someone off, and, finding warmth in the groups that accept us, and, isolating those who have a differences of opinions, this made, the gap between the various groups to become wider and wider, causing the opposing views to grow stronger and stronger, thus, reaching a common ground, understanding each other became, next to, impossible.

The world is never the same, and, the challenges will only grow by the numbers, and not get reduced, we’d needed to, band together, to see it through, and, to reach that agreement, the key would be how the Taiwanese citizens need to find back that kindness in ourselves, as well as people all around us, and the harmoniousness of the society. I hope, that this will start, from today on forward!

So, reviewing over this past year, a lot had been, accomplished by the government, and, we all, tend to, focus on what the positives are, and not looked at the negatives, what we need to improve on, because, that, is only, human nature, to NOT see the faults, and magnifying the good qualities, and, as a result, we let out faults get bigger and bigger, because we CHOSE to ignore them, instead of, tackling them, and so, this nation is still, very FAR from operating perfectly here.
