Jumping to conclusions, without first, crosscheck the facts, and that, was what got this pastor screwed, he’d, defamed the man who’d died, because he’d made his judgments based off of hearsay!!! From the Front Page Sections, translated…

As the pastor, Feng from the Church of Christ held a wake for a fellow church member, Chou, he’d pointed to the man in the coffin, and said, that he’d “had an affair, he was unfaithful to his own wife”, “Uncle Chou’s affair wasn’t allowed by God”; and it’d, stunned all the family members, they’d gotten so furious they’d sued the pastor for defamation. The Kaohsiung District Court found the pastor guilty of defamation, sentenced him to four months in prison, which he could pay a $120,000N.T. fine to get out of serving the time.

Chou’s daughter told the courts, that her father died in April, at the age of ninety-one; Feng, the pastor (age 72), on his wake in May, claimed, that “Uncle Chou had been having affairs for years on end”, “Uncle Chou did disgusting things with someone who’s not his own wife, and he should be judged”, “God would NEVER condone Uncle Chou’s extramarital affairs”, and quoted the Bible’s passage.

Chou’s daughter believed, that the wake should be a time, when the pastor say something soothing toward the family members, but the pastor stated, that her father had been in an extramarital affair, “Uncle Chou did Mrs. Chou wrong”, it’d, shocked her so.

As the court held its sessions, the pastor, Feng denied having told that Chou was unfaithful to his own wife, but he’d mentioned how he’d heard Chou’s wife talked about her husband as “that old goat”, and, in the sermons, he’d once heard Chou’s wife told the members of the congregation, “Praying for that awful man”, “Praying for that deceit”, “I’m, praying for my husband’s affair”, and he’d, speculated that Chou had an affair with someone.

Chou’s wife said that her husband had passed, and couldn’t take the stand; the judge believed, that Feng had rushed to conclusions, and “hinted” that Chou was committing adultery, that he’d already, gave off of a negative tone to the deceased, it’d, defamed Chou’s reputation.

Yeah uh, but, what if, this was true, and, you can’t blame this pastor, for jumping to conclusion, and, the pastor had based his claims on what the wife said in the gatherings, and, this still just showed, how you shouldn’t, RUSH to judgment, and, the pastor didn’t affirm his beliefs about the man having an affair with people close to him, and just, used his own deductions, based off of what he’d heard, which was, very unwise!
