A seventy-five year-old elderly woman was almost scammed in the amount to $9.05 million N.T.s, thankfully, the team captain of the seventh police force, Chen realized that she was getting scammed, and worked as the line of defense against the elderly being scammed with the bank teller, and it’d managed to keep the elderly woman from losing her life savings.

Early in the morning on the 23^rd, before the bank opened for the day, this elderly woman stood, waiting at the Taiwanese Bank’s Yilan branch, ready to make a withdraw. The officer, Chen from the Seventh Precinct who was on duty saw that the elderly looked nervous, he’d instinctively felt, that she had met the scam artists, and went up to her, to show her care and concern.

“Ma’am, I have my badge from the police department, and an issued gun, I’m a REAL officer!”, Chen patiently made his identity known to the elderly woman, and, reminded her that the year’s almost up, and that the scam artists are once, starting to work overtimes, and that she’d needed to be more careful.

The elderly told him, that a district attorney called her, said that something was up with her health insurance, and that they have her personal information, and knew the amounts in her four bank accounts, that if she’d not wired them the $9.05 million N.T. in her Taiwanese Bank account, they will forcibly, lock all her other accounts, she was very frightened, and since she’d gotten the call, she was so scared she couldn’t even fall asleep at night.

Chen told the elderly immediately, that she was called by the scam artists, and the assistant manager, Liu, the bank teller, Chen also helped soothed the elderly woman, to NOT make the withdrawals from her account, in the end, the elderly took in the words of the officers, and the bank tellers, and not insisted on making the withdraw, and had, saved her money.

The police stated, that they will be, chasing the lead on this particular scam artist ring, and reminded the public, to NOT fall for the words so easily.

So the scam artists are targeting the elderly in the population these days, because they can’t scam the younger generations, as we’d all heard and seen so many cases like these happening on the news, but for the elderly population, they’re, especially vulnerable, because they’re elderly and easily worried, that, was why this group of individuals makes the easiest targets, but gladly, this elderly woman was able to keep her money IN her accounts, thanks for the bank teller and the police officer.
