Taking Advantage of the Time We Share

Wisdoms gained from the experiences in life, translated…

I’d retired many years since, and I’d still gathered together with my former colleagued often; but every time we’d gathered, I’d felt happy, and sad and nostalgic too. The joys of being able to reconnect with my former coworkers, is beyond my descriptions, but, knowing how some of our former colleagues had, made their grand exits, shortly after they retired, it’d, made me chilled.

Surely, life is full of uncertainties, nobody can predict what comes next. Some people who are seemingly healthy and strong, are gone, in a heartbeat, leaving their loved ones unprepared. This time, the holder of the gathering wrote the text message of, “I want to set up a huge gathering, so we can just carry on in casual conversation, after all, life’s too short, we need to, make use of our time, see who we want to see, and do what we want to do,” I’m sure, this, came from his heart.

People often said, that we need to show care, love and concern toward our loved ones right now, so when we no longer are able to, we won’t feel any regrets. And, isn’t being with friends and former coworkers like so too? We’re lucky enough to know one another, and, we’d need to, keep each other in our lives, whether it be traveling abroad, or traveling in the country together, opening up our fields of vision, keeping our bodies active.

Looking at what’s happened, earthquakes, plane crashes, civil wars, that kept surfacing in the newscasts, the scenes shocked us all. A friend sighed, that we can’t predict when we will be hit with a major-scale disaster, we need to, live in the moment. Life flashes by too fast, we have NO idea, when we will, meet our ends, we need to, take advantage of that beautiful dusk that’s gone in a split second, that way, we’d not, wasted anything in our lives on this earth.

So, this, is the sighs from life, because the writer’s friends, former colleagues had passed away so abruptly, and each and every year, they’d gathered, and find, that there are, less and less members who were present, and that made the writer realize, that he needs to take advantage of his life in the moment, because we never know when we will meet our ends!
