The Library on Wheels Made Visits to the Facilities, Allowing the Physically Handicapped to Fall in Love with Reading

It isn’t at all, difficult, for the physically handicapped to check out books from the libraries, but, not everybody gets the experience of flipping through any volume of books as they’d liked to, the Hsinbei Library Systems started the “Books-on-Wheels” program, sending a small volume of books to the organizations with physically handicapped individuals, so those who are physically handicapped can enjoy the processes of reading through the books too.

The Hsinbei City’s Public Library systems pushed forth the program of “Mobile Library to Your House” function, and lifts a smaller scale library to the various local communities, yesterday, it was the very first time that the library-on-wheels had made its way into a facility with physically handicapped individuals, and, the mobile library was, decorated Christmas style, and lifted a “truckload” of books to the Hsinbei City’s Love & Care Nursing Center, and, the volunteers and the librarians also tapped into their imaginations, and started the board games with the residents.

The social worker for the Love & Care Nursing Center, Chang said, a lot of the residents loved and enjoyed reading, but, there’s only, limited number of books in the home, and the books-on-wheels system allowed the residents to choose from a wide variety of selections of book they’re interested in reading. Ting, who had cerebral palsy enjoyed reading, yesterday, she’d, picked out, a TON of illustrated books, and after she’d read through them, she’d retold the stories she’d read to her classmates, and, there were those who’d flipped through the recipe books, while taking notes on how to cook the dishes too.

So, this, is a GREAT program, because these minority groups of people also need the spiritual sustenance in forms of reading materials, to enrich their lives, and, by having these libraries on wheels, it’d made their dreams of getting books to read come true.
