That list isn’t even fully written yet, and, we are all, HIT hard, by our retirement here, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The speed to which Taiwan’s population is aging is accelerating by the day, the government should fasten its steps, to set up the networks for elderly care. Surely, people, are living longer now, than people from before, but, who knows, the money for retirement we’d saved up, is going to be enough. The inflations every year, is making our saving shrink more and more, and, if we’d fallen ill, or had an accident……….
having shared interests is very important in this stage of your lives…not my photo.
Recently, my good friend, Ping filed for retirement, as a group of us, friends gathered for a meal, she’d sighed, that life after retirement, isn’t as dreamy as she’d made it out to be.
We’d heard her telling it, she’d originally thought, that after she’d stopped working, time will be hers, to use. Sure, she’d gotten to sleep until she woke naturally in the morning, and didn’t need to hurry onto the busses, crammed herself in with the crowd on the MRT, and not need to worry that her wages may be deducted, if she’d arrived late to work. Without those nightmares of work, and never-ending overtimes, she could head out with her friends, to go shopping, and have afternoon teas. Without knowing, that she’d gotten, so much time to spare now, she’d not known what she’s going to do with all that time, her work, had become her focus in life from before. Says who that life is not all about work? But, aren’t you and I, working hard, to make our lives meet in reality?
Friends who are, currently busying for life, must’ve dreamed about your separate retirements, but, before you file in your retirements, do think things through, you must, have a complete retirement plan, otherwise, retirement, is only, the beginning of your nightmares!
So, this, is the importance, of KNOWING WHAT you want to do after you retired, and you need to have specific plans, like I want to go to Barcelona (for instance!), instead of writing out a vague plan (i.e. I want to travel around!), and, retirement requires us to slow our paces down, and start enjoying life, and in this stage of your lives, goal-setting is especially important, compared to where you’re still at work, in that nine-to-five grind, because now, you don’t have that nine-to-five grind, and, you have, ALL the spare time on your hands, and, you need to find out what you enjoy doing, or, you will, go CRAZY, or get depressed, because you no longer have ANYTHING to focus on!
