So, here’s a MIRACLE that don’t happen every single day!!! From the Newspapers, translated…
Out of the Genesis Shelter in Keelung came the crisp clean children’s voices singing, the preschoolers from Ching-Ching Preschool went to perform songs and dances for the residents in a vegetative state, wishing them a merry Christmas, and help giving them a boost too. A resident who was in a vegetative state started trembling his leg, seemed to have been, affected by the uplifting atmosphere these children are bringing to the home.
It’s almost the coldest time of year, the Ching-Ching Preschool’s students prepared a performance of songs and dances, and handmade the Christmas cards, adding a lot of life, and joy to the originally peaceful and quiet nursing home.
“Merry Christmas! Keep on fighting!”, the children called out with loud voices to the bedridden residents, although three of the residents couldn’t move or speak, but, they’d, lain quietly on the beds, and, stared straight at the children, there was even one person, who’d started, moving his legs with the songs the children were singing to.
after the performances, the children rolled up their sleeves, and made the starch balls, and, cooked the starch balls, to give it to the nurses who’d been looking after these residents.
The Genesis Foundation’s Keelung Chapter, Hsu said, that there were fifty residents living in the home, there were only twenty trained nurses working, they are very stressed out from day to day, and needed to show a TON of compassion; and, that although the patients are in a vegetative state, they can still feel the children performing, and that trembling their legs may be a way of responding.
The nurse, Jen-Ju Niou said, that taking care of people in a vegetative state “truly is hard”, but, she felt very blessed, to have some of the sweet rice balls that the kids made for her.
So, this, is the kindness from the younger generations, and, it’s a great thing, that the kindergartens and preschools are getting the children involved in showing cares and concerns for the community, this, is teaching a VERY excellent value to the younger generation that they’d started here.
