The less you want to move, the more muscle mass you’ll lose, that, is the way it goes, in case anybody’s wondering, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
The UDN Paper’s exclusive report, “Aging and Gaining the Muscles” had gotten accolades from all around. The city and county governments are now, putting the effort in allotting more money into helping the elderly population stay physically active.
Based off of statistic measures, 8.9 years before the residents passed away here in Taiwan, they’d spent on the beds, unable to move around and about. There are, a lot of elderly who, nine years before they’d passed away, had absolutely NO quality of life to speak of.
My father died from an accidental fall, he was gone so suddenly, not left any words behind for us, gave us a ton of memories which we missed of him. As I was standing at the shrine, my good friend, Ming came to show his respect, he’d consoled with me, “if the elderly can pass on with little to no pain, peacefully, it’s the blessings of the offspring.”, Ming told me the story of his own father, in the over ten years’ time his father had a stroke, he’d relied solely on him, who holds a teaching position to look after, Ming’s brothers are divorced and unemployed, they can’t even take care of themselves. And because his father didn’t want to cause Ming any more stresses or trials in life, he’d attempted suicide several times, but, was always resuscitated, but at the same time, it’d burdened Ming more and more. Ming used his own experiences, to encourage my mother, while she still could, she should, take full advantage, make full use of her retirement.
or, something milder, like Yoga for elderly, stretch exercises will do too, not my photo still…
And finally, my mother made up her mind, in one year, she’d had two knee replacement surgeries, and, gotten rid of her long-term problem by the roots. And, after her surgeries, the surgeon told her, that milder exercises such as swimming would fit her best, and so, every morning, my mother would head to the neighborhood pool, and became a part of an early swimmers’ group with those who’d retired, who’d shared her interest in swimming. They’d shopped as a group together, gone on tours as a group, and, became matchmakers for their own children, to help out with the funeral processions and the wedding plans too; in their elderly years, they’d become, more connected, and established a stable social support network.
Exercise, had made my mother healthier, it’d enriched and made her retirement more fulfilled too, it’d also helped her with the grief of the death of my father, keeping her mind off of my father’s being gone.
There are, the policies and implementations of exercise gyms, other than the hardware put in, the owners also need to make the atmosphere happier, so every gym becomes, a playground for the elderly in the population.
So, this, IS the many benefits of keeping one’s own body active throughout life, because the more you moved, the healthier you will become, and because the elderly in the population needs this even more, because as they age, their bodies started to deteriorate, and if you don’t keep that set amount of exercises that you’d been doing, how are you going to keep your bodies able for your age? So, those of you who are retired or planning out your retirements, feel free, to start exercising regularly, you don’t even have to run on those treadmills in the gyms, you can just take walks in that walkalong pass in your neighborhoods, I’m sure you’ll bump into plenty of interesting things on your exercise routines!
