“The Christmas present I want the most is a desk, but I had to lie on the floors to write, and the floor gets so cold sometimes.” “I can’t see what the teacher wrote on the blackboard, I want a pair of glasses.” As Christmas nears, a lot of the children from poverty stricken backgrounds all wanted their own Christmas presents, and the not-for-profit organizations all chipped in, to make their dreams come true.

“The Hualien 580 Food Banks” recently worked with the Protection Agency of Criminals, in October, the organization collected the wishes of the children from the distant regions in Hualien, and helped them raised the Christmas presents, it’d gotten a lot of the attention from the public, starting on the sixteenth, the presents will be delivered, one by one, to the children.

The manager of the Food Bank, Xiang-Yi Chou said, that the chairman of the board, Hu when he was younger, had volunteered at the San-Zhan Tribes in Hsiu-Ling County, and can’t forget how hard the locals are living. Last year, he’d combined the small food shops in the tribes, and set up the “580 Compassions Kitchen”, provided the children with free breakfasts, and this year in July, the group went to the city of Hualien, and set up the “580 Hualien Food Banks”, to help more of those who are in need.

The food bank sent out the Christmas wish list to the students of Yuemei, Chihmei, Sanzhan, along with several other elementary schools, the kids wrote back, and asked for bicycles, desk, glasses, pencil boxes, a thick quilt to get through the winter season, along with other items, and there was a child who’d only asked for a potted plant, to give to his mom, it was, very touching, it’d made the volunteers more motivated, to help the kids get what they wanted for Christmas.

The Taiwan CEO nonprofit organization, Hsinchu Logistics, had started up the “Giving you the Gift of Love” activity, started helping the children in the distant areas who are living hard presents, and this year, they were able to help 1,633 children to get the presents that they’d wanted.

Lin, the Taiwanese CEO nonprofit organization’s Lin said, that a little boy asked for a warm coat, but, he’d asked for one in adult size.

The volunteers thought it was a mistake, and inquired the child about it, and, the child wasn’t wanting it for himself, but for his own mom, and his kindness and wonderful gift had made the volunteers moved, and the member of the public who’d sponsored the first coat decided to give the mother and son another coat, so they can have a warm winter together.

And so, with the Christmas holidays approaching, you will thumb across multiple incidences of kindness, and love like these, and, these children who are living in the distant regions are living below standards, and yet, they’d wanted very little, just enough to get by, because everything ELSE is luxury to them, staying warm and fed, with a roof over their heads, that, is what’s pressing to them, and this just makes you think about how lucky you are, doesn’t it? And, it also sparked up that desire to help people out too!
