An Army General, Getting Defeated by a Kid

Something happened, in the hospital, while we waited to see the doctors today…translated…

I’d gone to the ophthalmologist’s office, people filled up the clinic, the doctor was kind, patient, not only was he very thorough in understanding every patient’s troubles, he’d needed to get up and go to perform surgeries in the O.R., so, the signal changed once in a long while, and most people in the waiting area are looking down at their cell phones.

The younger woman sitting next to me was with a young child, but the child was getting bored, she was so into the game she was playing, can’t even walk away, but the child was becoming more and more hyperactive, after sitting down for no more than two minutes, he’d gone to play hide-and-seek behind the chairs, managed to entertain himself. An elderly man had, wheeled an elderly woman in, saw that there was a seat, he attempted to get the elderly woman to sit, the elderly woman refused, intended to guard her wheelchair. The elderly man was getting angered by her, told her, “There’s a seat, so sit! The wheelchair takes up too much space, I’ll put it up, and store it outside.”

not my photograph…

The two kept their own separate opinions, refused to back down, at which time, the child heard the raucous, and tilted his head and asked, “Grandma, why won’t you sit in my chair, my chair is very comfy! I’ll show you.” He’d become so enthusiastic, in showing the elderly woman, climbing up and down from the chairs, so very busy, and showed that look of satisfaction, he was so cute, making people want to pinch those rosy red cheeks of his.

And, I’m sure, that the elderly woman was moved, she’d gotten up, trembling a bit, stood straight, then, sat down on the seat that the little boy showed to her. The elderly man was watching all of this, and, he’d, sighed, “from before when I was in the army, whenever I’d barked out an order, everybody listened, nobody DARED to defy me. Only my wife refused to listen to me.”, the elderly woman rebutted, “you’re a retired general from the armed services, and, you’d, lost out to a young child, so shameful!”

not my phoot…

Isn’t it so? A child, not using too much force, took down, an entire fortress, leaving the army general dumbfounded.

This, would be the effect of the children on elderly, because they get along so very well, there’s NO generation gap (not yet at least!!!), and, this makes me wonder, if all we need, are children, in the elderly people’s lives, to make the elderly follow the rules of doing what’s good for them………
