That just shows how all you need is be patient, and just wait, and eventually, everything will happen, step, by step, from the Newspapers, translated…
The special needs student, Ren-Jie Bai was developmentally delayed and was slow to speak, he’d received an award for the art competitions hosted by the city government. Because Bai had difficulties making sounds, he’d always stuttered, couldn’t tell his dad “thank you”, but, through his art, he was able to express his gratitude, “My Favorite”, he drew his dad, and a car, and wrote, “Dad, I Love You!”, next to his drawings.

Of the 377 entries, there were, eighty-six students whose work were selected, the mayor, Lin handed out the awards personally, and said, that this was the very FIRST time that the Keelung City Government had hosted such an event, and encouraged the kids to use this platform, to shine. There were two groups of the competition: special education students and the caring group, which invited students from regular classes to submit their entries too, hoping that it can get them to start showing care and concerns for the students who are developmentally delayed.
Bai got third place of the second competitive team of the middle school artists, he’d just come from China to Taiwan to live with his father, because he had issues with pronunciation, he could never tell his dad who had worked between China and Taiwan “thank you”, but, he was able to convey his gratitude to his father through his artwork.
“I, I, I drew a car”, Bai stuttered a little, but still managed to squeeze out these words, his dad was right there beside him, telling him to say it slowly. Mr. Bai said, “my son couldn’t talk well, but he’d learned to express his love toward me through his art, it’s truly amazing.”
So, this still just shows, that some children learn very fast, others, not as fast, but, if you give them the time to learn things on their own paces, they will surprise and impress you, like this middle school boy had, and I’m sure, that his dad was very impressed and moved by his actions, his professions of love too.
