Various neighbors, causing various results and treatments to the pets, translated…
A friend told me in distress, that he was trying to solve the issues of separation anxiety of his dog, he’d worried, that his spoiling his dog may have damaged his dog instead, as they went to work during the day, the dog would start to bark anxiously, and, it’d affected the neighbors, and the neighbors started posting their notes of complaints on his door.
would you rather live like this??? Not my photo…![]()
I recalled this dog especially, last December, a friend announced that there was, a new pet in his family, he’d named it, “Jubi”. “Jubi” wasn’t in good condition, was abused shortly after being born, lost his right paw, there was, a notable strangle mark around his neck, after he was saved, he’d needed surgery below his jaws in order to live, being young, fragile and suffered multiple injuries, he was temporarily placed inside the Neihu’s Animal Shelter.
The volunteers felt bad for him, took the puppy out, and after my friend learned about the puppy, decided to take this pitiful little dog who had a paw missing. But, after this pitiful little dog realized he was adopted, he’d become, a brand new dog, very active and brave, and didn’t lose an inkling of how a puppy should be behaving, because one of his paws was amputated off, and he’d loved, playing a game of attack with people’s feet.
or this??? Not my photo…

My friend quickly moved to Tainan from Taipei, so the dog, who got a brand new name, “Wan-Wan” to have more running space; it was said, that dogs were made from the dirt, and, if “Wan-Wan’s” amputated paw got in contact with the earth more, his foot would grow stronger. There was, a wider and more opened space in Tainan than Taipei, for Wan-Wan to run on, his front paws became stronger by the day, and, the wound from his amputated paw started growing a new layer of thicker skin.
But, as my friend had Wan-Wan for about a year, he’d started barking so loudly in the daytime, when nobody was at home, and, although there were only three, four households with people living there in the daytime, but his barks were still, very unbearable. And now, my friend already scheduled an appointment at the vets, and planned to take Wan-Wan to the trainers too, he’d worked hard to solve the problems. I’d advised, that he’d posted what he was doing, to help better the situation of Wan-Wan’s barking in the elevators, so the neighbors can understand, that they are, doing something actively, to change the satiation, that all that’s needed was, a little extra time, and a little tolerance.
My friend’s considerations are actually, a whole lot more than what I’d thought about, other than trying to help Wan-Wan’s separation anxiety, he’d already decided to move out of the apartment, into a mansion, they knew, that dogs’ problems are caused by their owners, and decided to change themselves first. It sounded, a bit, dumb and funny, how someone was willing to move for the sake of a dog, but, compared to the happiness that Wan-Wan had given to them, this trouble is nothing.
I’d recalled, how two weeks ago, my older sister found, that outside the window of her elevator, there was, a small bird’s nest, there were, two eggs inside. There would be birds that came to set up their nests, but, don’t know if it was someone who lived on her floor, or the building’s super, that’s always gotten rid of the nests so callously, and oftentimes, she’d seen the nest as she went out during the day, and by her return in the evenings, the nests were already, gone. This time, my older sister wrote a note, “Eggs in the nest, don’t clean it off”, and, pasted it on. It’s been, two weeks, my older sister is, counting down to the day those eggs would hatch.
on a tight leash…not my photo…
Moving a few weeks earlier, I’d found, that the family that lived on the second floor at the entrance of our street had a yellow dog, the yellow dog was kept on a short leash on the steel-framed window of the lanai, anxiously, he’d, twisted and moaned and groaned, and whined, there was no one there on the lanai, and if the dog moved one more step forward, he would’ve, hung himself to death. I’d waited for a few more minutes, and decided, to ring the doorbell, it was a child who’d answered the door, said, that the dog had, peed inside the house, that the floor became soiled, that, was why it was, tied there. “If he’d moved a bit farther, he would’ve hung himself to death, you couldn’t even have the time to save him, plus, there was NO one close by, watching him,” I’d told the kid harshly. A while later, the dog was, taken away from that high up steel-framed window.
Then, came one night, that dog started crying for so very long, the cries were so heart wrenching, that all the neighbors all came out, stood by the entrance of the alley to listen. Nobody knows, why the dog was crying, nobody knows, that if they’d inquired, it would make the dogs’ cries even worse.
As neighbors, sometimes, we can, do something MORE for the animals, but at times, we are, fearful, that if we’d done something, they might have it even worse than they already have it.
on a more loosely held leash, not my photograph…
So, this, is still, CRUELTY to animals, on this second case, whereas the first case, the owners were more than patient, more than gentle toward this handicapped animal, and, these two contrasts shows how differently the humans’ behaviors toward their pets can have totally opposite outcomes in a pet’s life.
Everything is very open with a clear explanation of the challenges.
It was truly informative. Your site is extremely helpful.

Pets that have separation anxiety issues usually because sometime in their earlier lives, they’d been abandoned, like when they were adopted from a shelter, and all you can do, is try and establish that trust with that new pet you have, and hopefully, by strengthening your relationships with your pets, they will become, more secure, because unlike their previous owners, you won’t, abandon them, put them out into another shelter too.
