The downside of having too much tourism, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
My coworker read an article her student wrote, it said, “Everybody says that the most beautiful scene in Taiwan are the people, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that’s only because the MOST beautiful of all scenes had been vandalized, and there’s NOTHING else but people to see”, every one of us couldn’t help but laugh, but, there’s truth in the student’s words.
Several years ago, Zeppelin filmed the documentary, “Seeing Taiwan”, it’d shown how beautiful the natural reserves of Taiwan were, and pointed out how industrialization is taking over. There’s no more mountainlike mountains, the rivers aren’t rivers anymore, everything in nature is, slowly, vanishing, and, the tourists can’t see any scenic, and so, they can only watch people instead.
Plus, the saying of “the most beautiful scene is the local people”, actually, it depends on luck, how many had been cheated by other humans, huh? but, the scenes are different, because it’d existed, subjectively, beautiful IS beautiful, and it’s why it’s most attractive to the tourists to Taiwan. But, as the real scenic sights no longer existed, relying on “humans”, to attract more tourists, that, is not a good idea at all!
Returning to the roots, fixing up our beautiful homeland, find that most beautiful scene back agina, allowing nature to exist forever, that, is how we will be able to attract those tourists for sure.
So, this is on conservationism, environmentalism, because all of these tourist attractions here are crowded with visitors, and, as those who’d come visit leaves, they’re not just leaving behind their footprints and taking JUST the photos, instead, they may be leaving behind a WHOLE lot of TRASH, taking pieces of nature that don’t belong with them as souvenirs, so that, is why this island’s ruin, is partially because of the tourist industry too.
