Half of the Students of the Night Division of a High School Were Found to be Drivers

Because these high schoolers are way too young, and can only see the rewards right in front of them, and NOT known the consequences to come, that, is what made them easy targets for the scam artist rings, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

In these past couple of years, there’s this steady increase of teenagers who worked as drivers, the city of Taipei police started a scam prevention case squad and found forty-three drivers for the scam rings, and, of these forty-three who were arrested, thirteen were teenagers, of these, there was, a fourteen-year-old middle school student, there’s this steady rise in number of teenage drivers, reasons being curiosities and making more allowances.

“I was only curious for the time being, my classmates urged me that I can make some quick cash, that, was why I’d gotten into it…”, the sixteen-year-old high school student, Chou, was originally a good and studious student in his teacher’s eyes, and was caught by the police, for making the withdrawals from the ATM for the scam artist rings as a driver, he’d regretted what he’d done, and told the officers, that because his classmates urged him to “part-time” that he can make some quick cash, that the last thing he would’ve imagined was that he’d gotten prosecuted. And, his thoughts rang true, of a lot of the adolescent drivers’ experiences.

The police forces in the city of Taipei pointed out, that there are so many cases of students like Chou surfacing, the scam artist rings used the drivers to make the withdrawals like expendables, that even after they’d gotten arrested, the scam rings wouldn’t feel anything, they’d targeted those naïve and young middle school to high school age students, and enticed them with making $2,000N.T.s to $4,000N.T.s to lure them in.

The city’s crime unit’s head of economics department, Chiu said, a couple of years ago, there was a case where over half of a high school night division class worked as drivers; back then, there were, so many scam-related cases, and, at most, these drivers can earn up to $20,000N.T.s for each one of the missions they were sent out on, and, the younger generations felt it was easy money, and, introduced the work to more of their classmates, and in the end, almost an entire class had, become victims of the scam artists.

The senior detectives pointed out, that there were the students from private technical high school and several private high schools in Taoyuan that had students who’d become drivers, who’d earned the money, and bought the name-brand items, and brought it to school to show off to their classmates, and, the rest of the class were drawn in, and, the schools had become, an incubator, for drivers of scam rings.

And so, this, is really awful, because these teenagers can’t yet foresee the outcomes of their own actions, and, the rewards are immediate, which is why a lot of the scam artist rings are targeting this group of people, to work for them, because their brains had yet to be developed, they’re, easily influenced, and, are too expandable, I mean, if they lose a teenage driver, then, there would be, a handful more, waiting, to take his place, and in the teenage years, these students are easily targeted.
