An Elderly Woman Sat Outside the Doors, Watched as the Pipes Were Being Installed Underground, Died from the Gas Explosions

The Tap Water Company of Yunlin County yesterday put the pipes in underground, causing a huge gas explosion, two huge holes were blown open on the roads, the explosion was powerful, Wu, the elderly woman who was sitting outside her doors, watching the constructions, was sitting no more than ten-centimeters away, she was blown up in the air, suffered severe head trauma, and died on her way to the hospitals, the families asked for the reason that caused her to die, the Fire Department investigated all through the night, and found, that there’s a concentration of carbon monoxide around the explosion site, but, if that’s what caused the explosion, there’s still more investigation need, in order to determine that.

Yesterday at around four in the afternoon, there was a gas explosion where the roads were being dug open to place down the pipes.

The seventy-eight-year-old woman, Wu was sitting in front of her house, no more than ten-centimeters away from the explosion site, as the explosion happened, she flew into the air, and landed two meters away, in front of her neighbor’s house, blood kept seeping from her head, the neighbors immediately called an ambulance, but Wu’s legs were blown off, there were holes in her head too, she was, declared dead.

The police took the construction worker, Huang back to question, and, the Chungwha Telecom and the water company’s personnel also rushed over, the construction workers claimed, that they were digging like usual, about ten meters away from the explosion site, that it wasn’t until they heard the explosions did they realize that they’d hit a gas pipe.

The police and fire department scanned the area through the night, and found that the cable hole that got blue open had a strong concentration of carbon monoxide, but they’d needed to look more into it, to clarify it as a cause of the explosion.

The family of the deceased said, that she was only sitting outside her own door, and, got blown up and died, that they couldn’t accept that this, was how the elderly woman died; the son of the deceased told, that before the explosions, he’d walked outside to speak with his mother, but, very shortly after he’d walked into his own living room, the explosion happened, he’d, run outside, and his mother was already lying on the ground, covered in blood. The police is already checking at the surveillance footage, to clarify the cause of the explosions.

So, this, is a death by accident, and perhaps, the construction workers dug where they weren’t supposed to, or maybe, the construction site had a high concentration of gas, because of a leak or something, but, we don’t know for sure. All we’re sure of right now, is that an elderly woman had, lost her life, because of this tragic accident.
