The Hospice Team Was able to Find His Family Before the Elderly Man Who Lived Alone Passed Away

The ins and outs of the world here, from the Front Page Sections, translated…

Before the Curtains of Life Fall for You, What, Do You Wish to Do? An Elderly Man in His Nineties Lived Alone, Became Weakened Due to Heart Conditions and Diabetes, as Life is about to End for Him; He’d Only Had One Wish, Find His Way Home Back to His Ancestors, to Offer the Respects, to Finish the Final Passage in His Life. the Hospice Team that Took Care of the Elderly Man Helped Him Find His Way Back Home, Fulfilled His Last Dreams, and, Allowed Him to Pass on with Ease.

Recalling this elderly man, the Director of the Taipei City Hospital, Huang said, that the elderly gentleman committed a crime when he was just sixteen, and was disowned by his family, and never returned again, aged on his own, until the Hospice Care Team helped him find his way back home again, and he was finally able to, visit his home in Keelung in a wheelchair, and, his siblings are all deceased now, he’d offered incense to his deceased loved ones, and wailed aloud.

Huang said, that the hospice program in the country are comprised with mostly resident patients, “but even in the colorful city of Taipei, there were, a lot of elderly who’d lost their abilities who couldn’t manage to walk out”, those who lived in the faraway regions, those who were immobilized, those who lived alone, can only rely on the proactive methods of the doctors, to help offer them the hospice services in their separate communities. But currently, there is, a very LOW rate of community-oriented hospice programs, and most of whom that were taken into the hospices were terminally ill patients, those with progressive liver diseases, sclerosis, heart conditions, and lung conditions, those who aren’t terminally ill with cancer, also needed the care provided by the hospices too, but, the cases of those who weren’t diagnosed with terminal illnesses getting taken in is very small.

So, there’s still room for improvements on the final care of elderly, and because we’re living longer, longer, longer by the generations, this, is why this topic is currently being discussed, because as we age, more problems that surround the subject discussions of old age will keep on surfacing.
