His not doing anything had caused the woman to die, so he’s still, GUILTY, for NOT doing anything to help her, causing her death!!! From the Front Page Sections, translated…
A man, Yeh, had three bottles of sorghum alcohol with a female chef, Liu, Liu was totally passed out, Yeh took the opportunity to rape her, the very next day, as Liu was taken to the hospital, she’d, died, the autopsy showed that she’d died of acute alcohol poisoning, and choking on the foods. Yeh claimed that she was his girlfriend, that the sex was consensual, the first trial, the judge gave him seven years four months in prison, he was displeased at how heavy the sentence, went for an appeal, and on the second trial, the judge maintained the rulings from the first.
The judge believed, that even if they were a couple, Yeh should still respect the woman on her rights to NOT want to have sex with him, but, it seemed, that Yeh believed, that so long as they’re a couple, every sexual intercourse IS consensual, clearly, he’d not had any clear understandings of the law; besides, Liu was completely passed out, and Yeh should’ve had the responsibilities to protect her to look after her, but instead, he’d caused her death, and so, the original sentence stands.
Yeh met Liu online on December 28, 2014, three days later, they’d spent the New Year’s together; on the evening of January 9, 2015, they’d gone to the shrimp fishery to drink, the two of them had two bottles of strong sorghum wine; then, Yeh had ordered up another bottle of 600 mL sorghum wine, and enticed Liu to drink so more, told her, that she’d needed to finish half a bottle, and then, he’ll, let her leave, so, Liu drank half a bottle in one breath, and, passed out on the couch.
Yeh took Liu to his rental place, and, raped her; the next morning when Yeh woke, he’d found Liu unresponsive, immediately called the police and sent her to the hospital; the autopsy showed that she’d choked to death on her own vomit, and she’d died of acute alcohol poisoning.
The D.A. indicted Yeh based off of rape and involuntary manslaughter, on the first trial, the judge gave him seven years four months. Yeh appealed, claimed, that Liu was his girlfriend, and that the sex was consensual, and claimed that Liu had drunk alcohol every single day, and never became too drunk to pass out like she did on that evening.
The judge called the witnesses to testify to how drunk Liu became that evening; but they’d just started seeing one another a few days back, it’s hard to establish that they were, boyfriend girlfriend, that there was no way of confirming, that Liu had consented to having sex with Yeh in her condition then.
And so, this LOSER had failed in his attempt to get free on involuntary manslaughter, after all, had he not poured down those bottles of strong alcohol into the woman’s stomach, she wouldn’t have died, and, he’d attempted to rape her too after she passed out, and, he got what he deserved, but seven years in jail is still, NOT quite enough, is it? Is that, the worth of this woman’s life? ONLY SEVEN years of jail time for the man who’d caused her to die? How, is this justice???
