A woman, Li Felt Desperations Toward Life for Being Ill for So Long, Decided to Take Her Third Son Who Was Paralyzed to Die with Her, Yesterday, She’d Stabbed Her Own Third Son with the Fruit Knife, Crying, “Let’s Go Together!”, After She’d Stabbed Her Own Son to Death, She’d Slit Her Own Wrist and Stabbed Herself in the Stomach, the Two of Them Were Lying in Blood at Home, as the Home Visit Personnel Came, She’d Immediately Called the Ambulance.
The Lis family of nine lived in a rental space in Taishan, the woman has four sons, the eldest, at the age of three, was diagnosed with polio, the second son was gone years ago, and her third married twenty years ago, had two sons, but was in a vegetative state after a car accident, his wife left him, he’d recently waken up, but he suffered brain damages, and is easily agitated and angered, the livelihood of this entire household landed on the mother. And, only the youngest son was healthy, is married with two son, and, the family relied solely on the youngest son, and his wife, along with their two part-timing kids to help support the family, along with the little over $20,000N.T. government assistance that the family receives to live off of.
Based off of understanding, the sixty-five year-old Li was diagnosed of melanoma a decade ago, before she was diagnosed with cancer, she did recycling for a living, recently, her cancer had, metastasized, and she felt she’d become a burden to the family, and worried that after she dies, her third son won’t get the proper care that he’d needed, so, she’d decided, to take her third son who couldn’t take care of himself to commit suicide.
The home visit personnel said, “This mom, really had it hard…”, and, as Li’s mother started relapsing from her own illness, she’d wish she was dead, and told the home visit personnel, that she’d just, wanted it to be over, that it was, so hard, living, plus the family members talked to her in an awful manner, and, she’d, killed herself in the end.
The police said, that Lee, the home visit caretaker would go to the Li’s household Monday through Friday to help out, yesterday afternoon, as he entered into the house, he saw Li and her third youngest son, lying in a pool of blood, and the third son called out to Lee, “Mom says she’s taking me with her, please help me!”, Lee immediately notified the police, and woke the eldest who was asleep in the next room, and, as the eldest wheeled the wheelchair out, and saw, he’d exclaimed, “How can this be happening!”
The police said, that the third son had pneumothorax from the stab wounds from his own mother, and four to five puncture wounds on his abdomen and thoracic, but was conscious, he was lifted to Changgang Hospital for treatment, and, the mother’s injuries were life-threatening, before she was lifted onto the ambulance, she was, barely breathing, she was rushed to the Asian East Hospital where she was, intubated for treatment,, and the forensics department had gone to the scenes, to take the evidences.
So, this, is the trials of life, because the woman felt too much stresses from caring for her own ill son, plus she is ill herself, and so, she’d thought, that committing suicide would be easier, and this just shows, how when people feel that there are no other options, that the walls are closing in on them, they are going to take the easy way out.
