A Group of Women Gotten Too Much into Gambling at an Illegal Gambling Place, Forgot All Their Other Responsibilities Such as Picking up the Kids and Making the Meals

Doing something illegal AND getting caught! From the Front Page Sections, translated…

A Group of women were arrested, some had passed out out of fear, some thought about their families, told the police to interrogate them faster…

There were, a group of women who’d become fazed with gambling, they’d forgotten to cook supper, or pick their children up from school, the family members got angered and reported them to the city police department; the police chased the leads and two days ago, followed the tips from the community, and went to this professional gambling ring, “Mama Happy”, they’d arrested thirty-nine individuals who were gambling at the place, one of the women passed out because of shock and was taken to the hospitals; there were nine out of the group of female gamblers who were Vietnamese immigrants, and, as they were caught, they thought of their families, and urged the officers to take their statements, so they can rush to pick up their kids, or to rush home to cook the meals for their families.

not my photo…

For over half a month, the Kaohsiung City Police’s special teams received at least THREE phone calls, “my wife was so into gambling, she’d come home late to make the meals, didn’t pick up the children after school, and lost ALL the money for the groceries………”, the men feared, that their families will break because of their wives’ gambling habits.

The police found, that this professional gambling ring, “Tien Jiu” would move around in Daliao, Fengshan Districts, there were individuals who worked for the rings who’d met up with the gamblers at the local super convenience stores, local wholesales marts, then, take the individuals to a workers’ shack in the fields, they’d started gambling at around noontime, and end at around four, or five in the early evenings.

Two afternoons at around four, the police set up the specialty squad, fully armed, to the gambling ring inside the steel factories, and, there were, an assortment of welding things, the steel plates, and tools too, the police had to move through it like it was an obstacle course, to get to the gambling ring; as a woman, Chen saw the police, she was too nervous, passed out, and was lifted to the hospitals, but she was okay later.

“we are all arrested!!!”  Not my photo still…

The police arrested the host of this gambling ring, the fifty-seven year-old Huang, the owner of the place, the forty-eight year-old Wang, the dealer, forty-nine year-old Chuang, along with two lookouts; they also took thirty four more gamblers into custody as well.

The gamblers were mostly female, there were, nine immigrants from Vietnam, there were also couples, mother and child. There was a Vietnamese woman in the midst, who’d asked the police to take her statement quickly, because she’d needed to get back home, to “pick up the children and cook supper”; a couple in their seventies said, that they’re elderly, and were looking for something fun to do, to pass the time.

The police stated, that there were, three separate locations for this professional gambling ring, that they’d moved their business to Daliao just this month.

So, that just shows, how easily people can fall through the cracks, because these housewives didn’t have ANYTHING ELSE to do, they’d found this gambling ring, and, even IF it’s just for a little fun, they’d still, broken the laws, because gambling is only legalized, in the CASINOS, not in these privately set up places, hello, hello, hello??? And, when you’re arrested you remembered your families? What about from before when you were playing the tables, huh, where WAS your family then???
