There’s nothing the cops can do, unless the stalkers do something physically to the victims they’re stalking, a BIG loophole in the systems here, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
“I’d been harassed for almost FIVE years now!”, the DJ, Shiu-Ji Yu told the press about her personal experiences, said, that there were male fans of hers who’d used multiple FB accounts and left private messages, he’d told me he “loved me”, then, he “wanted to sue me”, and sent her over 1,500 text messages too, and, “that person” also recently showed UP to her lectures, it’d caused her mental distress, and she calls out to the government, to help put an end to stalking and harassment.
It isn’t just Shiu-Ji Yu, the C.E.O. of Modern Women’s Association, Wei-Gang Pan said, that stalking and harassments are listed as the number one threat of women worldwide, that it’s, the newest form of violence against the opposite sex, that there should be laws set up to prevent this. Based off of the Modern Day Women’s Foundation’s survey last year, there were about twelve percent of young female students who were stalked or harassed, and, most were in forms of “harassments by text messages”, which made up about seventy-seven person of those who were interviewed.
The Modern Women’s Foundation held the seminar to prevent sexual violence that are trending now. Yu, who’s an advocate for setting up the laws said, the man who’d harassed her had told her that he felt persecuted by her, and he was going to the police, and would use emotional words to cuss her out at times, and, would express his love for her from time to time; she’d blocked him off, then, he’d set up a brand new account, and contacted her again, and he’d even, harassed her friends too, and spread rumors and libeled against her too, making others believed, that the two of them were involved in work or romantic entanglements.
Awhile ago, he’d even shown up at her forum, and, “right at that time, it’d, dawned on me, that ‘that man’ had come into my real life.”, and even as she’d received messages from her other fans, she’d mistaken it as from “that man” too, she’d started, living in fear every moment of every day. In the end, Yu went to the police, but the police said, that the man had let private messages that only she reads, that even IF he’d left the messages out on the open, there would be the phrases of “if you don’t do something, then, I’ll hurt you” for it to be established as harassments, and so, the police didn’t process the case.
He, the manager of social workers in the Modern Women Foundation also mentioned, that there was a female student’s ex-boyfriend wanted to get a hold of her whereabouts, he’d gone to her house to scream aloud, smashed the windows, thrown trash into her home, and every day, texted that he was going to hurt himself, or hurt her and her families, and he’d even mailed her the addresses of her various family members, which showed serious threats toward her life, he’d even tailgated her car as she’d driven up the mountains on her outings too.
And, there’s still NO laws, because, unless an ACTION (like say, the stalker went after you with a GUN of a KNIFE!!!) was “spotted”, it doesn’t constitute as “threats”, and that, is just one HUGE loophole, that those stalkers can weasel in, and, there’s no law to change that, as the threats needed to be physical (like smashing someone’s car, or attacking the person???), then, that, is when the D.A. will either choose to or not, to PROSECUTE, and this, is how this world became, this much MORE unsafe to live in!!!
