Helping to EDUCATE the public about mental illnesses, from the Newspapers, translated…
The society carried this stereotype toward those with mental illnesses, giving those who were diagnosed a bad reputation and misunderstandings. Yesterday, ten mentally ill patients used music, and skits and other forms of performance art, show their life processes, and led tours for the general public, hoped, that the society can show them more understanding, and more tolerance too.
“I’m a schizophrenic, NOT a psycho, nor a psychokiller!”, the mentally ill, Yueh put on a skit, puts himself underneath a huge white sheet, where he’d, struggled underneath it, but couldn’t get out, symbolizing how the mentally ill are constantly battling their conditions, but are trapped, for their entire lives, inside the white-robed hospital settings.

Another, Chih-Hsiung in the more-than-thirty years he’d fallen ill, he’d taught himself to play the Er-Hu, he’d painted the canvases on display in his section, with him, standing at crossroads, one road led toward normalcy, the other, toward a cliff, which symbolized the bouts of attacks of his condition. He sat in front of his own paintings, played “Jao-Jun Wang”, the music sounded like cries, and it moved the audience.
Uncle John had used the things that his father left behind, old shirts, old lamps, along with his mother’s handmade things, into decorative art, showed how much he loved, and was reliant on the supports from his own parents.
So, these individuals who are mentally ill had, found a way, to educate the public about their conditions, and, by putting on this show, they’re able to, march out of the darkness of their own lives, and, walk towards the society, where, the rest of us, are becoming educated about their illnesses.
