He felt this, need to “flash” his wedding band to the world, perhaps, it’s ‘cuz he was, so insecure (aren’t you all, MEN, anxious-avoidants, remember???) since the beginning of time, that he felt, compelled, to “show off” his statuses to the world.
The need to “FLASH” his wedding band probably (and there’s still NO way for me to know for sure!!!) stems from how he was so god DAMN insecure of everything around him, as he grew up, in a very unstable environment, never had anything thing he’d really needed, provided by his parents to him.

And so, he was, compelled, to “FLASH” his wedding band, to show, that wow, someone loves me now (that’s just my speculations though…), without knowing, that he MUST resolve his own god DAMN insecurities about HIMSELF, that way, he won’t feel, compelled, to “FLASH” his wedding band to the world to see, or maybe, he’s just flashing it, to show, that I’m available, and all you single ladies can dream about me now, how the HELL would I know, I’m not the dude here!!!
