Didn’t Want the School Children to Risk Getting Run Over by Cars, the Two Grandfather-Age Men in Charge of Their Boroughs Became Lifelong Crossing Guards

The man, Su, in charge of the Hsiu-Feng Borough in Shijr, Hsinbei City witnessed a little while ago, a young boy who was run over by a car on his way to school, he’d lost his legs, and, he’d worked alongside Liao, a man in charge of the neighboring borough next to his own, became volunteer crossing guards, to ensure the safety of the students, at the nearby Hsiu-Feng Elementary School.

At age eighty-one, Su had, worked as the man in charge of the borough for twenty-six years, he said, that many years ago, he once witnessed a young boy, getting run over by a semi right outside the school’s front gates, and although he’d immediately helped called up an ambulance, the young boy still had to get his legs amputated, it’d made him feel so awful, and ever since, he’d made a promise to himself, “I will keep on volunteering as a crossing guard until I couldn’t do it anymore.”

“Every day seeing the kids and the parents greeting me, that’s what makes me most cheerful!”, the seventy-five year-old Liao said, seeing a lot of the young children grown up, becoming adults, and becoming parents too, and took their own young to school, and seeing him there, they’d greeted him, “Good morning, Mr.!”

The boroughs these two men were overseeing are neighboring to each other, and, Su and Liao also set up volunteer security units, to keep watch over their neighborhoods, and pushed forth programs of educating the newly migrated individuals, as well as jobmatch programs, working alongside the city government, local land offices, the hospital, as well as with the schools, to push forth a plan to keep everybody safe in the community.

So, these are two men, who saw a need, and just, provided it, and, this stemmed from their empathies of their local community, and how much they’d, cared about the people living in their districts, and, all it took here, is a little heart, and, they’d made such a HUGE difference to the people in their local communities.
