She was only three, and, she’d started, her classes at the daycare center, and, each and every single morning, she’d waken up, so excited to go to school too.
She usually gets up, earlier than her mother does, and, she’d, put on her own clothes, ‘cuz she’d already learned how to dress herself, then, she’d, run to her parents’ bedroom, and, tugged at her mother’s hands…
not my photo…
“Okay, okay, I’m up, honey!”, her mother told her, and, dragged her tired body out of bed, into the bathrooms, to wake herself up, and, she went to the kitchen, to make her daughter, a hearty breakfast of a piece of ham, plus a bowl of her favorite cereal, with milk.
And, never once, did the mother notice, how her daughter, who’d learned to dress herself, had been, picking out two socks at random, just grabbed them out of her own sock drawers, then, put them on.
So, the child goes to school, with her mismatched socks, at first, the teacher didn’t pay it any mind, thought that her mother must’ve let that slide out of her mind.
But, the frequency of this little girl, coming to school, with her mismatched socks on, is happening a lot, every single day, but who’s been counting. And one day, the teacher finally decided to ask, why the child comes to school, with her mismatched socks on. The child looked down at her own feet, and looked up at her teacher, confused, like she couldn’t understand what the problem was. So, the teacher asked her again, and pointed out to her, how her socks don’t match.
And, one day, the teacher finally had it, she’d called the child’s mother to school, and, asked her why her daughter had, shown UP to school, every single day, with mismatched socks. The mother just, shrugged it off, and, the teacher started feeling alarmed, that something wasn’t quite right at home…
But, there was, NOTHING wrong with this little girl’s home environment, she has a caring mother, and a loving father who works hard, and, there was no sign, showing that the child’s been, mistreated in any way at all.
And yet, a week after the teacher made a home visit to this little girl, the social services came, and “hauled” the child away, she had to be pulled from her mommy, screaming so high and loud. She couldn’t understand, WHY she was, being sent away, she didn’t do anything bad, it was not her fault, but, in her mind, based off of how her young mind understands things: she MUST’VE done something AWFUL, for her parents, to NOT want her anymore………
This, is a story, that I made up, entirely FICTIONAL, but this shows, how the adults tend, to OVER-INTERPRET the situations, of how adults have the tendencies, to make judgments on children’s home fronts, based off of what they understand about the world, NOT from the child’s perspectives, because in a child’s world, it isn’t so complicated, it’s, much, much, simpler than that………………
