D, Who’s Aching All Over

That, is what you get, when you don’t take care of your bodies, translated…

Every time I’d contacted her, it’s either that she’s about to go see the doctors, or that she’s coming out of the doctor’s office—not all the actors and actresses would need to dance, or perform dangerous actions, but don’t know why, almost all the actors and actresses I know, all had bad backs. (myself included)

“The doctor said, this is muscular spasms.”, she could barely move her upper body now, so, she’s very careful, sitting down.

“Oh! I’m like an elderly woman like this now!”, she’d carefully, stood, back up again, handed me her cell

“What?”

“Help me record this down, so if in the future, I’d needed to play an elderly woman, then, I’ll have something to model after then.”, she’d told me.

I’d asked her how she’d gotten to this, she said that she didn’t do anything. I knew, that that, is a lie, so I’d asked her what she did, the day before yesterday and two days before yesterday.

“Two days before yesterday, I’d done weight training, a day before yesterday, I’d jumped rope for three thousand times, and I ran five kilometers yesterday.”, she’d stated.

“And that’s, nothing?”, I’d rolled my eyes at her.

“I’d done this regularly, it’s just that I’d rarely done these routines for three days straight up.”, she’d rubbed her own lower back, looking like she’s in a lot of pain. She sighed, “the doctor told me to stay off working out for two weeks entirely.”

“I suffered a sports injury too, the doctor told me to not work out for two months.”, I’d told her.

We looked at one another, and, we are the only ones who understood one another’s experiences in the world. Sometimes I feel, that because for actors and actresses, our bodies are the tools we make a living off of, so we’re more sensitive about our bodies, and more in-tune to the pains as well? Then I’d thought, I can’t even recall a morning when I’d waken up with absolutely, NO pains. The very first thing I did every day when I wake, is to feel which part of my body is off, like listening to my body parts converse, yesterday, it was my back, today, my calves, hearing them scream out in pain, like that, is the only way I can, feel alive.

and here, are a few examples of how you can hurt yourselves, not my drawings here…

“The physical therapist who’d worked on me said, I’d overused the muscles on the outside of my calves, that they’d, compensated for the work that should’ve been handled by the muscles on the inside of my calves.”, she’d told me.

“So, what can you do?”, I’d inquired.

“I’d needed to, wake them all up.”

If the body is a stage, then, there would be the leading and the supporting actors and actresses too. When the lead does too much, the supporting would wither away; when the lead didn’t perform well enough, then, the subordinates would take over the stages. Once the energies became imbalanced, the chi would get messed up, those who’d forgotten their lines, those who forgot their entrance cues, the lights, the sounds would also, be out of whack as well, and the stage would be off then. Then, there wouldn’t be, any audiences either.

“How, do you wake them up?”, I’d asked her.

“First, relax the outside muscle clusters connecting my lumbar to my outer thighs, then, focus on toning up the muscles on the inside.”, she’d talked, and fisted at her own hips, but, she’d used, too much force, and, hit the muscle that was, having the spasms, she’d let out a few more yelps again.

“The doctor told me to rest for two months!”, I’d told her.

“My doctor told me, that two weeks would be plenty.”, she’d still spoken, with that strong and fierce voice, but with a barely audible volume now.

Resting, is for the sake of traveling farther and longer, these clichéd word, should be posted, in large prints, by the actors and actresses beds or up on their ceilings as reminder.

So, this, is what happens, when we overuse our bodies, the parts would all be on STRIKE, and, because the pains were so minor, that you’d not felt them, or ignored them, because they didn’t get to the point of hurting your bodies, that, is why you’d allowed the aches and pains to go untreated for so long, and, when you finally feel the pains, and needed the treatments, your conditions are already, worsened, and this article showed, how important it would be, for us, to take care of our bodies, to listen to them closely, to NOT miss ANY signs of distress our bodies are letting out.
