A man, Hsaio, two days ago, took a butcher knife to his father-in-law’s place, and, injured his own father-in-law, and the uncle who’d tried to save him, he’d claimed that his father-in-law had, gotten between he and his wife, making her love him no more, and had a protective order set up against him, to ban him away from his wife and children, and sued him for breaching the terms of the protective orders, he feared, that if he was sent to prison, there would be no one there, looking after his young child, which, was why he’d attempted to murder his own father-in-law. The D.A. prosecuted him yesterday based off of attempted murder charges.
The police investigated, that Hsiao (age 41), didn’t get along with his own wife, many years ago, his wife moved back in with her own parents. Hsiao believed, that it was his in-laws who’d turned his wife against him, this year around the Dragon Boat Festivals, he’d gone to his wife’s uncle’s workplace to confront him, and as they started arguing, he’d used a knife and hurt his wife’s uncle, but his wife’s uncle only suffered minor injuries; afterwards, his wife’s uncle sued him for physical assault, his in-laws then, took out seven restraining orders on him, one for each member of the family, restricted Hsiao from getting closer to his own wife and children, as well as his in-laws.
Later on, Hsiao had, breached the terms of the restraining orders, he was sentenced to six years just last month, Hsiao fought for an appeal; on the twelfth of this month, he went to school, to see his wife who was picking up their son, tried to get their marriage right again, but his wife’s uncle had, managed to record their conversations down, and wanted to report him for breaching the restraining orders. Hsiao worried that there might be a huge chance he’ll be sent to jail, for breaking the terms of the restraining order, so he’d decided to, retaliate.
On the morning of the seventeenth, Hsiao carried a butcher’s knife, entered into his in-law’s home, in the master bedroom on the second floor, he saw his father-in-law sleeping, he’d started stabbing and hacking at his father-in-law’s neck and head, his father-in-law woke, started hollering for help, the daughter-in-law who was asleep on the floor above heard, she’d immediately, locked her bedroom doors, and called her husband who was, already out to work.
Hsiao, after injuring his father-in-law, went up to the third floor, attempted to get his wife’s uncle’s wife back for calling, learned that his wife’s uncle already got the S.O.S. from his wife, he’d hid in the bathrooms, ready to ambush him; as Hsiao’s wife’s uncle came back in, he saw Hsiao with the knife in the staircases, he’d run the opposite directions, as he was fighting Hsiao off, his right hand was injured. The father and son were rushed to the hospitals, the father, with two slashes on the head and one on the neck, after being sutured up, was without life-threatening danger, he was sent to the I.C.U. for observations; the son’s right hand was hurt, after being sutured up, he was okay.
The police said, that Hsiao worked odds and ends, and picked up recycling materials for a living, that his wife and eldest daughter received government assistance for handicaps, the couple often argued over smaller matters.
And so, this, is what led to the attempted murder, because the marriage was already going sour, and, the man believed, that it’s his own wife’s family that was, turning his own wife against him, without looking closely at himself first, and, had he acted right, why the HELL would his wife’s family take out restraining orders against him? But, instead, he only saw, oh, they’re all against me, and they will pay! That, was what made this man behaved in such a violent manner!
