There are, two widely encountered sights in the fields, the little egret during the daytime, and the black crowned night heron after the sunset, they’d used their calls, their feathers, and their statures, to decorate the scenes.
The nature of the little egret is that they come out during the daytime, left their nests, came to the fields, the fish ponds, or the streams and creeks, to find food. The night heron has another name, “the dark-lit bird”, based off of the name, they’re nocturnal. Although these two birds have opposite schedules, but, this, is where the interesting facts lie, they’re, from the same genus, but one appears in the day, the other, during the nights, it’s a very, interesting arrangement that nature’s made for them.

The little egret enjoyed standing on one leg, with the other leg, tucked into its body, like a Zen master, in meditation, it can stand on one leg for a very long time too; and, if they’d found one of their preys, like the mudfishes, or other smaller fishes, then, they’d, lightened their steps, and sneak up, used its sharpened beaks, to pick up the foods!
The little egrets would flock together by the top of the hills, and there was a saying on the hilltops, “the hills of the little egrets”, with the birds, taken up the entire skies, looking like the fallen white flowers, or snows, it had that sense of aestheticism to it. The night heron, however, made their nests up on the trees with the cattle egrets, and during the breeding seasons, there would be, three, to four nests per tree, with three to four eggs per nest too, and the colors of the eggs are widely ranged as well. In the food chain ruled by nature, the nests were, very enticing to the snakes, to climb up the trees to steal the eggs to eat.

Compared to the former, the night herons had gray colored feathers, and naturally, it’s a, camouflage, so as it becomes active during the nighttime, the colors can make these birds safer. At dusk, you can see these night herons gliding over the fields, with the echoes of their single-note calls. As the little egrets are about to return to their nests, the night herons are, on their ways out, making a sight to see in the countryside. At that time, it’s just around the time for the “cooking flower” to bloom too, the time when we’re about, to start our suppers; there would be smokes, rising from the chimneys, slowly, mixing in with the skies, this, is a mark, of before the society became, industrialized, taken over by capitalism, that scent of warmth in the world that was once here before.
So, you can see, these are two very different birds, that represented how many different people are in the world, and, although these two very different birds had split-up schedules, they still coexisted peacefully, so, why can’t we humans do the same too???
