She Was Sued for Having an Affair with Another Woman’s Husband, She’d Set Herself on Fire in Front of Him

A married woman, Liu took along a keg of gasoline, to the workplace of the man, Pan, with whom she had an affair with a while ago, and set herself on fire to kill herself; Liu killed herself, and there were, over sixty-percent burns on Pan’s body too, he was still being resuscitated right now, and the police are looking into the cause of what had happened.

Pan’s relatives told, that Pan (age 56) took up feng shui at his wife’s uncle’s fortune-telling shop in the tourist attract streets of Nantun, he has two daughters and a son with his wife, was a close friend to Liu (age 52) who managed an alteration shop in the same street; Liu and her husband had three children, and six years ago, Liu and Pan started having an affair.

Three years ago, Liu’s husband found out about her affair with Pan, sued Pan for obstruction of family, he was separated from his wife, and he’d asked Pan to pay $1.5 million N.T.s for breaking up his family, they’d gone to the intermediation committees, but, Pan set the amount too high, they’d not reached an agreement; the very next day, Liu’s house was broken into, she believed that Pan did it, and pressed charges on damages at the local police station. Pan’s wife also sued Liu for destroying her family, they went to court.

At a little past three in the afternoon yesterday, Lu took a five liter bottle, filled with gasoline, went to Pan’s fortune telling shop, back then, Pan was having a conversation with his friend, Lin, after Liu chased Lin away, she’d locked up the doors and the windows, then, took out the gas-filled plastic bottle, set herself on fire.

Lin saw the entire process, he’d immediately called the police; he said, after Liu set herself on fire, Pan attempted to pull her outside, but the fire raged out of control, the entrance was blocked, and so, Pan can only escape from the back.

As the Fire Department in Taichung received the call, they’d rushed over, and although they were able to put out the fires quickly, they’d found Liu’s body on the first floor, and, rescued Pan out of the backdoors, rushed him to the hospital.

As Pan was taken to the hospital, he was lucid, there was, sixty percent second, third degree burns all over his body, there were, burns on his head, face, limbs, as well as body too, he is in life-threatening danger, was taken to the burn center of Chinese Medical School Hospital. Liu’s husband came to the police station to get his statement taken, told the police, that he’d been separated from his wife a long time already, and didn’t know why she’d set herself on fire.

So, based off of this, this woman’s setting herself up on fire was probably due to how the man with whom she was having an affair was going back to his wife, and his wife was suing her for destroying her family, that, was why she’d decided to kill herself in front of the man she was having an affair with, because she wanted him to live in the regrets, but there was no way of knowing that for sure now, as the woman is already dead, and so, we can only, draw the conclusions based off of what we know about the case.
