My Husband Who’d Made My Life Harder than it Had to Be

Translated…

My husband is the only son in his family, he was, spoiled by my mother-in-law since he was a young child, and naturally, he’d, followed the values of, “men staying away from the kitchens”! Since he retired, however, he was, all of a sudden, ejected out of the stresses and busyness of work, other than feeling relaxed, he’d felt, loss and empty; maybe, it’s for the sake, of showing that he’s still worth something, that he has a place in our home, he’d started, trying to do the household chores, to show, that he’s, a loving man toward me, and attempted to, get the status I’d acquired for so many years, “the cook” away from me, but he’d often, made me even more stressed out in the kitchens.

My husband who’s a busybody would often would switch the homework assignments of my kids’ regular school and cram school a lot, would recycle the papers I have yet to finish reading, and all of these smaller matters, we’d all, gotten used to, what’s more stressing was, he’d always turned my neatly ordered kitchen, into a bloodshed battlefield.

Like once, when I went out to exercise, he’d ran toward the marketplaces on his bicycles, and filled up the fridge with TWO weeks’ worth of produces, and not only that, he’d also, soaked up the vegetables with the roots in water too, like the leeks, and the Chinese spinach, the drips from the vegetables caused the sink to become, spotty, and the originally green and healthy-looking produce, all started looking old and used, because they were taking in, too much water, waiting, for me, to rescue them out.

“This is NOT how I cook!!!”, “Well, I came home early, so I’d cooked for you today!!!”  Not my photo…

There was once, as I’d entered into the kitchens, I’d heard my husband’s loud voice, “Honey, I’d bought some fresh live fish, using very cheap prices! Come, come see how fresh they all are!”, I’d, rushed into the kitchens, and then, my originally sweet smiles turned, into a frown, because my husband was, de-scaling the fish, using the fruit peelers!

Not to mention, how in order to help me out, he’d multiple times, taken out the soup from the day before, and reheat it on the stoves, then, went upstairs to read the papers, and by the time he’d smelled the burn, the soup on the stove had, already, been cooked dried………

So, this, is why the kitchen IS a woman’s “territory”, because you men don’t know WHERE anything is, and if you try to help us out, then, you’d only mess with the way we usually do things, now, I’m still NOT saying that cooking and cleaning is a woman’s business, but, perhaps, before you men try to help us out in the kitchen, first, learn where EVERYTHING is supposed to go, and don’t mix the foods that aren’t supposed to be mixed together???

yeah, this, is what we, women like to see, a man who knows his way around a kitchen…not my photo.
