We’d heard, that there was, a coconut tree by the beach
With the fruits, ripened on there about to fall down
The group of us decided, to cross the roads, to make it there toward the beach
And climb up that difficult to manage coconut tree.
I’d, turned around, and looked
A couple of my companions
Vanished, out of the blue, on the way
In the evenings
I’d heard the laughter, the clinking of glasses
And, the aromatic scent of cooking
That was, from the distant, orange-red lights
That, was when I’d discovered
what these creatures looked like, photo from Wikipedia…
That this was, a season of harvest for them
But, a low season for us
This just shows, what these creatures had to face, they risk becoming ROADKILL, crossing the roads, to get to the beaches, and, they’d also had to, watch out for humans who are, out to make them into dinners too, and, we still don’t see this as alarming???
