A last year middle school girl dated an adolescent man, Liu, she was pregnant, Liu took her to get an abortion, but because the abortion wasn’t performed right, the girl started bleeding nonstop. The father of the adolescent girl couldn’t understand how his wife who was a housewife couldn’t watch their own daughter, he’d divorced her, and gained custody of his daughter; the adolescent’s mother was unhappy that her marriage fell apart because of Liu’s actions, she’d sued him for a little over half a million dollars. The Shihlin District Court believed that Liu had broken the custody rights of the parents, causing the parents to divorce, mandated him to pay $455,000N.T.s.
The Shihlin District Court pointed out, that this case was a criminal and a civil case, that the plaintiff was the adolescent’s mother; and if the father can prove emotional damages, and showed that it was caused by Liu’s having sex with their daughter, he could file for a civil case claim too. And, the district court gave Liu a ten-month sentence for obstruction of sexual freedom.
The verdict pointed out, that Liu (age 23) met the middle school age girl three years ago, and, to be together with him, the girl had, skipped home. Two years ago in November, Liu took the adolescent girl to get an abortion at the hospital, the doctor asked to notify her parents, and that, was when the adolescent girl’s mother learned that she was, pregnant. Last year, due to complications of her abortion, the adolescent girl started having serious bleeding in January, and after she was released from the hospital, the very next day, she’d bled again, she was, rushed to the hospital, to have another abortion completely.
“I’d given my daughter to you to care, and you’d let her turn into this”, the father of the adolescent was displeased at how his wife couldn’t control his daughter, divorced her out of anger, and gained sole custody of his daughter. The mother, not only was she stressed out about her daughter’s health status after the abortion, she’d lost her economic support too, she’d believed, that Liu had, destroyed her family, and, filed for a damages claim.
The adolescent’s mother told the court, that Liu had, fooled her daughter, and because she was rebellious, and they’d placed her in protective custody, she’d refused to come home. That after the two surgeries, her daughter’s health was ailing, she’d spent $55,000N.T. for her care, wanted Liu to pay for it, and she’d asked for another five million dollars N.T. for the emotional damages.
Liu, who was on the run got caught, admitted that he was guilty, and willing to pay for the medical fees, but he’d told, “I’m not working yet”, there was no way he could possibly afford the five million dollars the parents asked. The Shihlin District Court believed, that this had happened to the adolescent girl, her parents needed to use more energy to look after her, that the mother had blamed her husband for not looking after her daughter well enough, and divorced him, that there is a basis, for the claims, mandated that the Liu needed to pay $455,000N.T. to the parents.
So, this is a series of chain reactions, from one single act, the youth having sex with the adolescent girl, and the parents had every right, to sue this man for what’s happened to their young too, and, it’s also because of what the young man did with their daughter, that’s caused them to divorce too, so, the mother has a justified cause, to ask the youth to pay.
