Gaming and life, translated…
As a young child, the computer game I’d played the most was “Minesweeper”, installed on almost, every single computer, the rules were simple, the game, easy to manipulate; the gray space separated, into many smaller blocks, and the players must, open up the blocks carefully, in the time given, guess at which blocks contained the mines, and, if you’d hit a space with a mine, or you ran out of time, then, you’d, lost the game.
oopsy, I died!!!
At first, when I’d started playing, I’d gotten, blown up every single time, thought that the safe areas are safe, and so, I’d, “stepped” on the mines carelessly, and, gotten “blown up” again. I’m done with this game, getting my ass kicked, I’d, thrown down the mouse, screamed. My father looked at me in silence, and continued the game I’d started but not finished. “You’d given up so easily? If you don’t play ‘til the end, how do you know if you’d won, or lost?”. The safety areas are all completely, marked, there wasn’t, any explosions this time, and there’s that smiley face that marked the success, my father returned the mouse back to me, patted me on the head, said, “don’t give up so easily, son!”
the hardest levels…
After my father died of illness, I’d, played, a multitude of different games, but, Minesweepers was the most memorable game of all. The ups and downs of life, having issues in love, in school, difficulties adapting to the workforce, they’re like, the many buried deep landmines, waiting for me, on the road called life, sometimes, I’m able to, dodge, sometimes, I’d, stepped on the mines, and gotten blown up. Every time I’d wanted to run away, I’d thought of what my father told me, bit down hard, kept going forward. The game of my life, I shall pass it, taking responsibilities for my own life, this, is what I’d learned, from playing this computer game, and from my father.
Actually, life, is the hardest game you’ll ever play, but it’s, also, the most interesting one too.
So, you can actually, gain an understanding of L-I-F-E from playing these games on the computer, can’t you? This still just shows, that lessons are everywhere around you in life, and all you have to do, is open up your mind, and, your arms wide, to embrace everything that comes your way, and treat everything you encountered, as an opportunity for you to learn something about yourselves, and to grow too.
