You’d Ordered Delivery…He Got Injured, Delivering the Meals

From the Front Page Sections, translated…

As Typhoon Meranti hit the southern portions of Taiwan, Kaohsiung was hit hard, I’d called up a younger schoolmate to show my concerns, he’d told me that everybody is okay, it’s just that his son got into a minor accident.

After his son graduated from high school, he’d not continued education, and worked temporarily in the pizza shops. He’d gone to make the deliveries as the typhoon hit, the roads were slippery, and, he’d tripped and fell, but gladly, there were no other serious injuries.

On the typhoon days, the classes stopped holding its sessions, the workers from the offices wouldn’t need to go to work, because the government had considered the damages brought on by the typhoon, hoping that the citizens would stay indoors, boarded up their windows, in preparation of the typhoon. But, on the typhoon breaks, I’d often seen people out and about, shopping on the streets, having a grand time, and even the offices that still made the employees worked, it’s truly, shocking to me to see that.

this, is people, driving out, in the typhoon in Japan, woudl you WANT your kids to drive out in this dangerous weather condition???

I’d recalled that every time a typhoon was about to hit, I’d reminded the students at the morning gatherings, that they should all stay inside their homes. But, this sort of code of preventing further damages, is completely in contrast with the reality of the society we live in right now.

I hope, that the days off caused by the typhoons, all the shops, all the offices, as well as all the corporations, other than the needs to keep the production line running, you really need to show a respect to the lives of your workers, to treat them well, to NOT make them go out to work, even make the food deliveries, causing accidents. On the days of the typhoons hitting, if these employees were your family members, would you want them to, risk their lives, in the harsh weather conditions?

not my photo…

Of course N-O-T, but at this day and age, all we cared about is, OUR separate conveniences, and, it is, easier, to order takeout for deliveries, instead of having to cook your meals on the days of the typhoons hitting, and, because there’s NO laws, regulating these deliveries, that, is why these workers are riding out, into the storms, risking their lives, making the deliveries.
