If you can’t even set a better example for your young…from the Front Page Sections, translated…
I’d just attended a reunion, we’re not even thirty-five yet, and, there were a couple of the classmates, with children, some even, as old, as the elementary years too.
and this, would be as BAD as it gets…
One of my former classmates, from before when we were still in school, she’d loved reading, attending the seminars, was very active on campus. Since she was pregnant, she’d started listening to English songs, and read to the fetus inside of her, whatever she heard was good for the fetus, she’d, done it the very next day.
After her child was born, she’d worked endless, to find out which kindergarten is the best, which piano teacher teaches the best, even in swimming, she’d found a national competitor to teach too.
She’d emptied herself out, because she’d not wanted her child, to lose on the starting lines. From before, she was once, the most energetic person in our major, no matter where we went, we could see her there. And now, she’d told us, she can’t even, remember when the last time she’d, cracked open a book. She used to love watching the documentaries, and written the movie reviews, and now, after a long day’s work, she’d just wanted to, turn on her iPad, to watch the soaps.
The education of the younger generation IS important, surely, but, using words to teach always paled by comparison to using actions. As parents, we must, set a better example, if we want our young to study hard, while we carried our iPads and watched the soaps, log on to FB, catching the monsters in the games, how, do we tell the kids, to NOT get drawn in by the online world, to buckle down and study?
So, this just shows, how time can change someone, and how important it is, for the parents, to set a better example for their young, if you’re an avid reader, then, there wouldn’t be a reason why your kids aren’t reading fanatics too, and, if you tuned into the televisions whenever you got the spare time, that, is what your young will do too, because children MODEL after their parents, so, WATCH how you behave, parents!!!
