The Ninety-One Year-Old Man, Chang and his wife who’d become blind has a house, that was secretly put up for a loan at the bank by their daughter, but because the daughter couldn’t pay back the loans, their home was, foreclosed; their neighbor for over a decade, Yang, who operated a fruit stand close by, could not bear that the elderly was about to be on the streets, he’d talked to the buyer, and made an offer, and the elderly couple had a home again.
On the morning of September 1, Chang the elderly man went to make a withdraw at the bank, and the teller found, that his savings account had been, cleaned out, that the money he had there was already, moved to another bank elsewhere. Because the elderly man was making a huge sum in withdraw, the teller feared, that he was being scammed, so the bank notified the police immediately.
The Fengshan Substation’s Chenggong Subprecinct sent out the officer, Lu, and used pen and paper to communicate with the elderly man, to calm him down.
The police found, that the daughter Chang had with his eighty-something wife was in jail for something, and right before she went in, she’d secretly took out a loan with their home at the bank, but she couldn’t pay the interest of her loans, and the house was foreclosed. The neighbor, Yang, who operated a fruit stand found this out, and helped buy the elderly’s house to let them live there, so the elderly wouldn’t become, homeless; but the elderly man wanted to own his house, to have the property register under his own name, that, was why he was at the banks, to take back his cash deposits, to get the money, to buy his own home back.
The next door neighbor to the elderly, Yang, who’d owned and operated a fruit stand was very lowkey, toward helping to get the elderly man’s home back for him, he’d only stated, “I didn’t want to see any tragedy, just showing care and concerns, as a neighbor toward the elderly couple is all.”, then, without another word.
The workers at the fruit stand said, that the owner of the fruit stand, Yang, had strained himself to get the elderly’s house back; after he’d learned that the elderly’s house was foreclosed, he’d started worrying about them being turned onto the streets, and wanted to get in on the bidding, to buy the house, so the elderly couple can keep living there.
The owner, Yang didn’t get the bid, the house was bought by someone else, the new homeowners wanted to move in, and, the elderly couple refused to move out, stated, “We’re going to die in here”.
Yang saw the predicament of the elderly couple, he felt bad, and, worked hard, to communicate with the new home owner, and, was able to, buy the house back, so the elderly can keep living there; Chang the eldlery also put up the money, for the new homeowner’s stay until the new homeowner is able to move to another location too.
Chang was from Jiangxi, China, followed the military to Taiwan when he served at the age of twenty, he’d retired as a sergeant of the marines, then, started working as a vendor at the nightmarkets; although he’d become hard of hearing now, he’s still, very healthy, his wife became blind because of cataracts, the two of them only had one another, and, as the neighbors passed by their place, they would all show care and concern toward them.
The worker of the fruit stand told, that Chang’s wife was blind, and would trip and fall in the house, and after the elderly found his wife fallen down, he’d come over to aks for assistance, and they would all go over to assist, to help take care of his wife for him.
So, this, is the kindness of neighbors, and, because the neighbor, the owner of the fruit stand felt awful, thinking about how the elderly couple won’t have a home anymore, he’d put up the money, to buy their house back for him, and this act of kindness is very rare, as a property cost money, and, this man was willing, to use his own money, to help maintain the homes of this elderly couple, that, is an act of selfless giving.
