Her eyes grew tired, as she sat, dressed up, like a beautiful doll, on the living room sofa, waiting, for her dad to come and pick her up, little did she know, that he’d, forgotten, again, just like, the last time he, “promised” to show up…
Her eyes grew tired, but, she’d worked hard, to keep them, opened, ‘cuz she’d not wanted to, miss anything, that’s happening, outside of her bedroom. And, she’d heard, the adults, yelling and screaming, she felt, real scared, she’d, grabbed a hold to Teddy tight, and, hid, underneath, her covers.
Her eyes grew tired, but, those monsters that came, in the depth of night, kept her, awake, despite, how tired she was, getting. Ever since god knows when, she’d been, visited, by these, atrocious, EVIL monsters, and, they’d not just, come out from underneath her bed, but also, from the inside of her closets (weird, I’d checked before I headed off to bed, there was, NOTHING there!!!), and, from all those, darkened, corners of her bedroom…
Her eyes grew tired, she stayed awake, because she’s so scared, last time, she’d heard her adult counterparts mentioned of a foreign word she’d, never heard of, “divorce”. Her eyes grew tired, and, as that foreign word “divorce” settled into her mind, she’d finally, fallen asleep, little did she know, that she won’t wake, from the nightmares which became, her reality.
