Spent Half His Life Serving Time, He Made a Vow to Turn His Own Life Around for the Sake of His Own Mother

A man, finally, deciding to, turn his life around, from the Newspapers, translated…

“I’d sepnt half my life in prison, I will, start anew!”, the Keelung Penitentiary and Reformed Prisoner Protections Agency held its Mid-Autumn family get-together yesterday, inviting the prisoners and their families to spend time together, the man, Chuan wanted to thank his mother fro never giving up on him, that after his release, he will work in a bakery, to make the money to look after his own mother, to make up for the blank pages in his own life.

The Keelung Penitentiary stated, that every year on New Year’s, Mother’s Day, as well as Mid-Autumn Festival, they would hold these get-togethers, and so long as the inmates behaved well, after they’d passed through the checks, they will have the opportunities to get together with their families. Yesterday, there were, twenty-six individuals who were serving the time who’d qualified, as forty-five members of their families came, they’d held one anothers’ hands tight, and, there were prisoners who’d just seen their own young for the first time who were, moved to tears.

The man serving, Chuan said, that he didn’t know better when he was younger, made a ton of bad company, because he couldn’t kick his bad drug habit, he’d entered and exited jail a total of twenty years, that he’d wasted his youth away, that he’d spent the first half of his life in prison, and his mother never gave up on him, would come to the prisons to visit him by the month, it’d ignited his hope for his own life, during the time he’d served in prison, he’d taken up baking, learned a viable skill, that he only has eight more months left to serve, he’d planned to work at a bakery after his release, and make enough money to care for his own mother.

“My son made a mistake and I chose to forgive him”, Chuan’s mother told, that her son took the wrong roads and was sent to prison, but he will, forever BE her young, that she wouldn’t give him any less concerns or care, that each and every month, she’d made it to the penitentiary to see him, to encourage him, to make his own life count, used her love toward him to change him.

Yesterday on the family get-together, the penitentiary also invited the “Dreamers’ League” a musical group made up of handicapped individuals, to perform a total of fourteen songs, to encourage those serving the time, to never give up on themselves, in the end, the entire group sang “The Moon Showed My Heart”, celebrated the Mid-Autumn’s Festivals early.

So, this, is how the love and support from the families can help turn a life that’s gone down the wrong paths around, and, because these men were young when they made their mistakes, they’re paying for it during their stronger years, and, as many of them were released, they may not have the viable skills, but this prison had helped those serving time attain a viable skill, so even as they are released, they will have a viable way to make their own living, and not returned to the bad ways that they’d lived from before…
